That is just a general guideline and by no means is this the only correct way but I think it is fairly correct. However if the Twilight council is researching something it is very important to snip. It also depends on where you drop because the main aim of the drop should be to buy time without losing any units this means that you do not stim and run deep into their base just to snipe a forge or are reliant on doing damage. It also depends upon where you drop because if you drop near the third you do not want to stim and run into the main :D just kill whatever you can! look at it this way. It should just be a way of doing effectively free damage (excluding energy)
Ps: Nexus are very nice to snipe but I was not sure where to put it :D Probes are also in my opinion one of the best things to snipe.

You should always target the thing that gives you the safest exit + grants you the most damage done. Like if you drop someone you don't target their base or something big focus on small things. Like supply depots,pylons,queens,forges/ebays/evos and workers. Last thing you want to do is target a tech strucutre if you can and you will not lose your drop well go for it. Its not good if you kill a tech structure and lose your drop. That is not even because you will be not able to put pressure and the opponent brain will start to click and he will put defences for next drops.

U obviously should go for tech buildings if you've hit him before a timing, and can delay his timing attack with unit x (colossus, blink stalker, etc) by 3 minutes or more just by wiping out the building.

its a mix between staying as far away from the opponents army and killing as much as you can.
in order to kill a lot of things, you wanna target stuff with low health. probes and pylons will generally be exellent targets.
i assume you are terran so it is easier for you to kill buildings with higher health very quickly. in that case i recommend to target baneling nests, spires, robo bays, armories etc. however only, if you can CERTAINLY get it. "always go for guaranteed damage" (day9)
