Nice. I saw Mana on his stream do two base mothership with one carrier to a lot of success also But this seems like such a fast mothership.

I was going to say the same thing. MaNa has being doing this on two-bases and it seems a lot more stable that way. You have enough resources to constantly produce carriers and 4gates worth of units, making for a scary-as-hell army by the time you recall into the opponent's main. It also looks like a fairly standard stargate-based pressure build if you manage to keep the fleet beacon hidden!

Although, I do see that you've got a replay for a 2base rush in your opening post. I'll have to take a look at that before I actually talk about your build. I just wanted to mention MaNa's style!


The 2 base isn't really refined at all, it was just something I tried one night. I'll definitely check out mana's style. Do you have a link to a VOD of him doing it on his stream or a replay?

@sated hmm, how about instead of getting the mothership to their base which can be scouted by the overlords, while the VR pressure you get blink and more gates and go kiwikaki style? (killing all the hatcheries with blink stalkers and then recalling to save them! :D

used to do something very similar to this on scrap station to great effect against terrans, take out their token missile turret and survive at most 1 scan and its pretty much gg
If you dont like something, then that should be reason enough to try and change it

I've seen CrunCher do this build a few times, but he used it on close air metalopolis and shattered. Still, good guide, I'll try it out, thanks!

I must say it is super fun to do this strategy. I played it for the whole morning. The best is WTF moment when they see your mothership and it actually is dangerous for them.

It works pretty well on platinum terrans too. I let them see startport so they make more marines than marauders. The timing of mothership mass recall is righ about they finish building 4-5 additional rax after expanding, so they have not enough units.

That Build is really interesting! I used to do a Mothership Rush build long ago, but it was way slower than yours! Thanks for sharing that strategy! It may or may have a good win rate, but in the very least it will be very cool to execute!

Just tried this out, and had a blast! Personally I went for a VR and a few phoenix while the MS was building, hoping it would look like a normal SG harass. Many lulz were had.

this actually looks perfect for the zerg i fight always getting their lair later than normall and just using pure roach. think it may have some problems againist the ling infestor play also.

I had a nice 1 base/2 Carrier/4 gate build I worked out semi-decently back when there was a Day9 daily about it, and vs Z it can be so brutal, I won 9/10 games with it vs plat/diamond zergs, and every one of them was a complete rollover, the one i lost was to some random guy that rushed blind hydras. I wasn't brave enough to go full mothership though, plus my timing was more like 9/10 minutes, lol.
The thing with most Zs is that at this time in the game, either they'll have overseers, which can be shot down in seconds, or spores.....probably in the back of their base by their mineral line. So this just auto-wins vs so many Z builds. Definitely going to try this in some team battles, lol. Imagine a nice 4 4 gate + mothership rush at 9 minutes hitting a team base, lol.
