It looks like a 1 rax expand and with bunker at your front you can deny him from seing your expo on most maps. I often place 2 Rax out of my Base so i can often sandwich his Stalker with the marines, move out with a few SCVs while getting my late expo.
If you block him with a depot from getting into your base, he'll be thinking that you're going 16 CC (or 17 w/ longer barracks time.) You can then drop 2 more rax, like with a 3 rax allin, but instead of pulling all your SCVs, just bring 3-4 try to deny his expo or just march in if he's teching to DT or something. You can drop a cc or even two behind that pretty nicely. If he's going for some sort of allin just build bunkers at home and try not to lose any units and make your defense.

I would say Marine Tank is harder to play.. since because you have to split like a mad man

This is my first question in TL.
1. When should I push in TvZ? I have used order that is 1base Hellion Banshee. First push is no problem but I don’t know when second push timing. When I have 3 tank after that? or is there another timing?
2. Positioning of the Tanks. I don’t know how to place siege tank in TvZ. Do I place tank in a straight line like train is good? Or Make a rectangle with 4 tank is the best?
3. I want to learn more about TL forum. I know that if I search #G and I can find topic with guide tag. But I don’t know any other information. I don’t know what does mean the color of folder on topic. So I want to learn more about TL forum. Please tell me if there is place that has been described in detail forum.

How's it going everyone? I have been playing a lot of ladder recently and noticed that whenever my opponent in a TvP proxy gateways me, I lose even when I scout it. It seems that making a wall in around my workers is just no good on some maps as the zealots can find a small crack to get in. What is the easiest, most efficient way to shut this strategy down? If anyone knows of a replay where a professional holds it off that would probably be the most beneficial learning method.

Incorrect - watch Mvp's IEM replays where he went marine tank, only pre-emptive splitting, nothing marineking/2011 Mvp like

Hi, Platinum Terran EU server, 2 Weeks ago my best m-u was TvZ ( Historicly my worst m-u tho ) and i was in gold league, i watched the "From bronze league to master" or something along those lines thread here on teamliquid, and since then i tried to work on my macro. Today i'm platinum, and my best match up shifted, my strong point now being my macro, i manage to overcome a lot of protosses ( recently played a rank 2 diamond protoss and won in a 35 min macro game on antiga ) but i struggle vs zergs, when i open up hellion banshee, i manage to deal good damage with the hellions but struggle to get anything more than 3-4 drones per banshee, then i transition into double armory mech but the zerg gets someting like 6-7 roach or a bunch of zerglings to deal with hellions, a couple of spores / queens and start producing drones per wave of xx. Tech to infestor and turtle to hive + bl to end roaming me up, i also have some troubles taking 4th or securing a 3rd if he goes muta :/ Leading me to lose something like 60% of my TvZ. Basically same story when i go marine tank, even if i have a good early push with a couple of marines and 2 siege tanks, if he gets to infestor and banelings i'm pretty much done. When i go full bio i'm doing pretty much ok until he gets a shitload of banelings and infestor. When I go marine tank i tend to get 2 fact production of tank and upgrade started before adding medivacs, should i get faster medivacs and go for drops ? When i drop i usually go for queens first to limit larva production, then drones, and when they flee wether i go for the spire / infestation pit / spawning pool or directly for the hatch if i feel like i have the time, should i focus something else ?
Thanks in advance.

TvZ is quite hard nowadays, i had the same issues, so i'll give you the same advice that was given to me, wich made me improve. I always open Hellion Banshee like you, its good to make some dmg and to defend some cheese, however even if you kill 10 / 15 drones, that doesnt mean game over, just means you slowed Zerg a bit. Improving your macro is key, At 14 mins mark i have 6 rax 2 factory 1 starport constatly pumping unit, and almost 2 / 2 upgrades. Usually i make a push when 2 / 2 finishes. After this push i put 1 more factory 2 or 3 more rax with tech lab to counter Ultra or couple more starports if Broods, and constant drops helps aswell. I think thats a good way to start in your TvZ. Last but not least, MarineSplit Chalenge is your best friend, trust me , worked wonders for me. Hoped i could be of any help, and good luck in your future games.

To add to the excellent notes above, if you're opening hellion/banshee and you see that your opponent is taking a fast third without gas, you should be free to take a quick third at the actual third expansion (rather than getting an in-base command center, which is standard nowadays). Try to keep your hellions and banshees alive. One thing that I remember vividly from Taeja's games during IPL TAC3 is how he used his banshees not for harass, but to deny expansions. Queens are really slow, and if your opponent isn't committing to mutas, you can deny the zerg 4th and 5th base by just keeping a banshee over it. Remember that zerg requires a 4th base to successfully engage in hive tech, so the longer you delay gas (or trade minerals for gas), the longer you delay that BL/Infestor doom push.
Hope that's helpful.
Master Terran, btw.

How should I transition to marine/tank from the Mvp style 1rax FE into hellion-banshee into 3rd cc? Just general order of things, no need to give the food count (as it can differ greatly) and if I should not suicide my hellions (and if I should get cloak)
Thanks!

Don't waste minerals making a wall around workers. Just put down a bunker near your ramp and throw down raxes until you have 4-5. Pull SCVs if your bunker is not up in time and protect your marines. Then you can safely pump marines out and grab your natural when he can't keep up with the pressure.

Would be helpful if you can provide replays. When dropping, you should also go for gas.
If you really feel that whatever you do, you can't win but you are fairly confident in your micro then learn to do some 3 rax marines SCV all ins.

I have to disagree with you there, as at the highest level I do believe mech basically has no margin for error, while marine tank has one, a slim one, but one all the same.

Hello there. Jus started playing SC2 2 months ago, i am now top diamond pushing for master. Im kind of struggling to Zerg (oreally?) as i don't really know what BO should i aim for. I prefer bio play as i find mech to be really boring.
Here's a replay, i struggled hard versus this zerg and i'd like to know what i coulda done better (a lot of things i guess) or any tips concerning my gameplay that i could improve.
Thanks a lot. Hugz

I've recently been getting greedy vs zerg since their macro is starting to reach bullshit levels, opening hellion/banshee while going 3 ccs. However I'm dying every time to zerg all-ins, particularly speedling/baneling busts. Even when I know if it's coming (which has been every time recently as my scouting has been better), by the time he's busting my front I have a handful of marines and 2 hellions. Say I spot something fishy going on when I scout (an earlier queen, gasses, etc). What am I supposed to do to stop this supposed push? What if he doesn't try to bust my main and I just lose resources preparing for a non-existant attack?

Get Banshee count up. They are really good at sniping banelings.

If they busted your Nat but didn't bust your main, going up to 8-10 hellion and 2 banshees (rally a third) to attack is really strong against a third or infestor. You will need to get eBay and over turret if opp goes 2 base muta followup but that is rare and you should trade really well if they do this before mutas finish.

TvP on Antigua. 1 went for a std gas opening, probe gets into my main and builds 3 pylons behind my minerals whereas two were attackable and the probe was inside. Whats the correct reaction? Do you attack both sides? With how many SCVs? Do you close off your rampe even when I build the rax in my back? How important is it to snipe the probe? Are you really behind this with 2-3 SCVs, do you a-move just one or just wait for the first marine?

Against 2 Gateways in my base, I use 11/11 and I build my Barracks between my CC and geysers. Regardless of your building layout you will have to micro anyway, so pull back SCVs after they take 2 hits and remember that a Marine cannot take any hit from a Zealot if you move it manually with caution.
Proxies outside your base are simply thwarted by a wall.

This is an awesome tutorial, that helped armies of starter terrans to raise - http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=330787 .
However, I will tell you this, brother - switching to terran from zerg will NOT boost your confidence ;p.
