A good trick in TvP is to have ghosts on a seperate hotkey so they don't get in the way of trying to stim, and so you can give commands to your army without getting ghosts in the way. I spam E and click wherever I want an EMP.

If you have a group of ghosts selected and only click a few times, you will order the cast to different ghosts, and some may be further away. So you need to click each templar more times than ghosts in your selection. Try to use the mouse wheel scroll, or rebind some key on your mouse to be double-click. This can make the spamming easier and quicker. Lmao I held down R and spam clicked templars and it just selected the HTS and deselected the ghosts. Apparently holding down the snipe hotkey DOESNT work. Ty for the advice, LOL.

Ty for the advice, LOL. I wouldn't recommend holding down R, but rather, hitting R each time you need to snipe. Holding down R will only work if you click slower than the repeat rate on your keyboard. To whit: in a text entry field, press and hold down a key, It'll be like "T... T... T.. TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT". This is how holding down R will enter in snipe commands. if you want, you can learn the time, or you can modify the repeat delay and repeat rate in your OS settings, but typically it makes more sense just to hit R every time you need to snipe.

It might be the delay on your keyboard, if you hold down any button it will activate once and then auto repeat. I'm sure you can alter these settings in windows. Test it by holding down a letter in a text box, note the initial delay before it auto repeats and how fast it repeats. The other thing might be trying to target templar while they are not in range. Anyone, like Blazinghand, I just spam single click to EMP or to snipe. edit: lol I think we just wrote the exact same thing ![]()

When going to engage with Ghosts and you want to use them for snipes or the like, always press "F" before moving in. This makes your Ghosts hold fire (<--deactivating their auto-attack) and allows them to let out their spells much quicker. Another perk of doing this is that you can actually Shift+Snipe when you get within range, without the side-effect of going into auto-attack when being targeted, instead they just run away to a further place where they have range. I would suggest trying it out using the Unit Tester Online, and messing around with it. It's makes quite a difference when used efficiently, and allows your Ghosts to use up their energy before going into attack mode. The only bad part about doing this is that if you're going to need to manually revert back to auto-attack mode by attack moving with your Ghosts. Just be aware. Other than that, enjoy your new Ghost control. You're gonna be sniping temps and festors like they're nothing. GL.

I used to go Sky Terran because the toss at the gold/plat level can't adapt to it, but I have been trying out bio. I can handle collosus fine, but zealot archons get me, and when I win, it's because the opponent played badly. Can any TvP specialists help me out here? Attached are 2 replays when I did my best, but still lost. Advice on macro, build orders, what to do, etc to correct my play would be very appreciated. Thanks. http://drop.sc/164556 http://drop.sc/164557

Thanks. http://drop.sc/164556 http://drop.sc/164557 I watched the first game. Here are some insights: Your scv production was poor, and didn't really have the economy to reinforce your army quickly. You took really bad engagements and actually won out, due to your upgrade advantage, but gave the toss too much time to catch up. Especially before you started dropping.<--You had bigger army supply, and could have wrecked some shit.) It gets really dangerous when Toss gets up to 4bases with 8gas. You're pretty much fucked, especially with the tech switches that can insta-counter you. (Killing all the vikings <---make more Colossus.) You need to learn to play standard. Go 1RaxFE. Defend. Get a good army, then attack. Always scan the front of their base before engaging. No need to keep doing needless drops, especially when your whole army could have taken on his front with proper FF dodge micro and stimming right as the toss gets up in yo' face. You got good upgrades though, that's something you should always remember to do. With an upgrade advantage, you can take on battles you never thought were possible. Scan their natural-->See their army--->Click a unit to see their upgrades. If you're ahead, push in if you trust your micro. Edt: Also that goes without saying that you need to macro better. Spam those production keys and always keep making units!

Does anyone have any advice for doing so, should i smurf down a little bit (say to silver) in order to work my way back up or just go in at the deep end and start queing as terran? And can you guys recommend good 1 base plays/all-ins to use while i get used to the new mechanics? Thanks in advace In terms of your ranking, I wouldn't want to drop down lower than you actually are, so I would just play terran in platinum and see where the system puts you.

Ya should just learn how to 1rax FE and go from there. Terran is the easiest race to pick up imo, just real hard to master.

I go for 2 rax concussive to apply pressure on the toss. Sometimes I can outright kill them. Don't feel safe with 1 rax but imma gonna try it! And thanks for the advice on checking opponent's upgrades through scan, I never thought of that. As for scv count, well I was floating 1-2k mins late game so I probably should dump them somewhere... I would appreciate it if someone direct me to the correct guide? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=238021 http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/1_Rax_FE http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=303159 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=307662

Turrets exist mainly to buy time for your marines to get there, they aren't supposed to fight mutas by themselves.

The upgrades help a bit against muta harass, especially when the mutas try to snipe the turrets. However, I feel like it puts me behind a little with my infantry upgrades, and the problem could probably be solved by laying down more turrets. Is it even worth it to get the turret upgrades? If so, when's a good time to get them? I always wait til I'm at least 3/3 before I get either turret upgrades or armour upgrades from eBays, but I play heavy marine style TvZ so I get upgrades very fast.

Just wondering if I could have some analysis on this replay: http://drop.sc/164702 basically I am pushing the protoss back the whole game after my initial push, I have a good food lead, a good base lead and I was only slightly behind on upgrades. I talked to the protoss after, he was a cool guy and we came to the agreement that I didnt build enough barracks and enough starports which meant I couldn't keep up my pressure and put me behind. What is a good rough number to aim for of each production facility per CC assuming I go double gas on each CC too with a marine/marauder/ghost/medivac/viking!!!!!!!!! mix thanks guys
