Was watching a GM protoss stream, and 10+ minutes into the game, most of what this player was doing was just toggling through their hotkeys and groups over and over again. And not going to each and producing something like an upgrade or a unit, but spamming the hotkeys for whatever reason. It made no sense to me. He did lose the game too... Hard to tell without having seen it of course, but what you might be seeing as spam is usually something productive. Pro players like to toggle through hotkeys, especially building hotkeys, a lot to constantly check up on their production. There are also a lot of hotkey configuration with units. Every time a new unit comes out it needs adding to a hotkey, sometimes two, and different units to different hotkeys of course and etc. It feels really weird to me that a GM player would just sit there and spam for no reason 10 min into the game..Unless he was practicing. Dunno why he'd do that on the ladder then ![]()

tournament master players silver leauge random player Your goal should be to have fun and learn, not to win. With MMR at the bottom of gold league, you are better than 28% of active players on the ladder system, but bottom of masters puts them better than 98% of the ladder system. You'd be outclassed to an unwinnable extent against so many tournament-goers that your best shot is probably to try to win some if and while you're still matching with people who are remotely on your level, before you get knocked out in later rounds

In this skilled level of game, as omiknight, I get silenced often and feel as though I am worthless. Any value in getting a linken's? I'm thinking of linken's after my soul ring and mana boots but before my mech or pipe. Thoughts? Hmm, what custom map in SC2 are you playing?

If your goal is to win a tournament you should be practicing long before you even enter a tournament so that you have a better grasp on what builds work, and more importantly how to execute them like you're reading them from the back of your eyelids.

My question is this: How do I add the units to the control group while they are en route to the ramp. Is there a way to add them to control groups without manually doing it?

There is one way, you can use the select all units hotkey (F1 by default) and just re-bind to your main hotkey, but you're obviously going to run into issues if you have multiple control groups, or have units you want else where. The best way to do it, and the way which most pros do (assuming that you are terran) is to just amove/rally them to your general army area and hotkey them manually as they arrive -- not as they're made or while they're still traveling.

Thanks for the hasty response. It makes sense to do it this way.

Is there a fast way to pick up marines with medivacs? If i have a medium sized army and quickly need to pick up my army, I select my entire army with marines and medivacs. Then, I right click my medivacs one by one. However, almost all the time, I also accidently right click marines and medivacs. What results is the pick up isn't fast and sometimes some marines don't even get picked up. Is there some secret way to quickly pick up marines?
