EDIT: I was low Platinum as Zerg and i've never played Protoss before. Which maps should I veto? What's an easy cheesy mind gamey build I can do vs all 3 races? (When tilting, bored, effing around) No build order, just point me in the right direction ![]() How many workers/base while also having one extra for building while keeping full saturation? Should I gateway expand every match up and focus on mechanics for the first week or two or should I use specific builds right from the beginning?

I thought the whole point of reaper expand was the scouting potential of the reaper making SCV scouting redundant. What is it these pros are looking for with the SCV and what reactions do they make based off of what they see? I imagine it could be to disguise the reaper opening/look for proxy gateways.

Im only gold so please forgive if the theorycraft is flawed or answer is obvious. Thanks! requires a lot of multitasking. setting up buildings (reactor to tech lab) requires multitasking; using ravens/ghosts during battle requires multitasking. you may say "its simple to just drop a pdd" or "snipe a few banes," but remember that they are also stimming, splitting marines, dropping mines in place, etc. they may also be managing drops in multiple locations at the same time and macroing behind the battle. while you drop a pdd or snipe that gives a second for those banes to get closer to your marine clumps--one pdd is not going to make up for the many marines you just lost to banelings. that being said, should they be doing it? it may make sense for them to do so. especially one raven so that they don't have to scan to remove creep. i think incontrol discussed this on the last itg.

TY for answer. I certainly couldnt control all that stuff at my level. maybe one day :D but it seems like a sound idea. but no one plays theorycraft for money.

To add on to daphreak's response, in a standard 8/2/1 setup on three base, you only need fiveish geysers to support upgrades, widow mine production, and initial/replenishing medivac production. Having excess gas means you're mining more gas than you can spend on 3 base with this style, or it's the late game and you're done upgrading.

They will hate you but you still win. And have one of them team mates cannon rush too.

What is it these pros are looking for with the SCV and what reactions do they make based off of what they see? A lot of reaper expands (not all) straight up die to a 10 gate pressure without scouting it. People who play these builds will often send the scv to check gateway timing in order to start a bunker ar home in time.

Why 4v4 when all of your units are fast enough to find an opponent stuck by himself and make it a series of four separate 4v1's. By the time your units all arrive at a base, they'll be dead before their teammates can even group up to help. Speedlings, reapers, hellions, usually crowned with a fourth player going dt's/phoenixes/banshees or some unit that requires tech to deal with, which most players won't have when dealing with the influx of fast, cheap units mentioned above. If the Protoss isn't teching they usually just 4g which comes a little later than the above units. A fourth playing a zerg and passively expanding while other hellioning/linging players dump their gas into him is another solid follow up.
