Of course! The current meta game for zvz is roach vs roach, but opening roach, and transitioning to muta midgame is not the worst idea. Easy cleanup as long as you can delay with your lings long enough. You won't need banes unless your opponent starts to incorporate hydras, but make sure to connect with them. The obvious transition/counter to ling/bane/muta is infestor play, but with good splits on your mutas, a lot of time you can get a good engagement/trade. I like to go muta to force spore, and contain to prevent my opponent from moving out. Sooner or later you have an overwhelming army to over run them.

(simple) question: How can i create a textbox (witch is visible while i play sc2), lets say in the top left corner of the screen, with the buildorder i want to execute. (sorry for my terible english ^^)

If you play in windowed mode, this is possible, but makes your game screen smaller. You could also type in chat a build order and leave that open during play. A notebook is always a great tool to have for creating/perfecting build orders; I have one with all of my BO's written down. The best choice however would probably be a second monitor for you.

I have two questions:
1 - The MSC' time warp spell slow down the DPS of melee units like zerglings and zealots? 2 - The AI of voidrays focus fire on armored units? Scenario: if the zerg attack with roaches and hydras and I a-move my army, the voidrays will attack the roaches instead of the hydras?

1. Doesn't slow attack speed on any unit, only movement speed. 2. They attack the nearest target if you a-move. But since roaches have lower range and faster speed, they'll most likely be in front anyways.

That's not correct. Void rays will prioritize the closest units that can attack them (hydras, queens, flyers), then any other hostile in range, then low priority units (revealed hallucinations, workers on move command, etc). Also there's a priority system for what units to attack; search for Orek's post on targetting priority for more details. This is the same reason why muta's always pick a fight with marines first, then clean up marauders, and only after that do they shoot at medivacs (although the muta bounce is truly random, so some low priority units may get splashed anyway).
What you might see sometimes, depending on how the engagement happens, is that void rays initially target the roaches since the hydras don't have speed, aren't in range yet, etc. Then when the hydras start firing, the void rays don't change targets until the roach they are currently attacking is dead. Then when the roach dies and they choose their next target, they'll find a hydra in range and attack it.

The muta bounce is not random. It hits the nearest unit every time.

I believe when multiple bad guys are exactly the same amount of units apart from the original target it is actually random.

Is there a competitive scene for SC2 other than 1v1?
up until how many is still considered competitively balanced? (2v2) (3v3)?
|
Also when a widow mine hits an immortal at full shield does it only take 10 damage?

No. The widow mine does spell damage, which is not negated by immortal's hardened shield.

Theres a 2v2 tournament now and then, and sometimes there's a 2v2 match at the end of a clan war. But generally, no. There is no competitive scene for anything other than 1v1.
As far as I know, the game is pretty balanced for 2v2. But its hard to tell if its competitively balanced because the top players generally doesn't play it competitively. I don't think 3v3 or 4v4 can be considered even close to competitively balanced.

okay so just to confirm anything magical/spell damage source does not trigger immortal hardened shields? storms/ shockwave, fungal etc?
|
I am having the idea that even 2v2 is not balanced, maybe they can change some numbers / stats / damage and stuff if they would balanced? hmnmm I am just dreaming but It would be cool to have other scenes other than 1v1.

Well, all these spells are dots anyways, so they don't really apply either way. I think right now widow mine is the only spell that deals direct damage and is bound by this rule.
edit: Had to check ingame for this one to make sure. Photon Overcharge is not considered a spell once cast on the nexus, and the attack is stopped by hardened shield. So then, yes, Widow Mine is the only of its kind in the game right now.

yeah it makes sense since the nexus becomes a cannon and cannon shot equates to normal damage.
I guess emp would still outright remove 100 shield and seeker missle would be classified as spell, gotta test them ingame though. btw Thanks

Hi guys. I have recently switched to Protoss and i have very simple question. When does Protoss get his upgrades? Is there any rule when you start them? Or it depend on your build. And what with 3 gate robo push? If I did decent dmg and want to switch to macro game, should I get my upgrades ongoing immediatly? Pls tell me about some Protoss upgrades timings. Ty for help

Depends, it could be build specific like +1 X presure or +1 all in or + 1 timing attack so it could be build specific and match up specific.
I know that in PvT or generally, as long as you feel safe (PvT can defend drops or pushes), you can put your forges and start upgrading. Unless again you have a build or a timing window that you are following.
Or like in PvZ where you need to use your early forge and not let it idle.
Or like in PvP would be mostly build dependent I guess or when you already chose a tech path and had expanded. (applies generally too)
I also think taht if you have a good amount of stuff say able to defend a push you should get them upgrades as it would benefit the whole army.

Yes, you're right. Sorry I meant that it's truly random with respect to unit priorities. In the marine/marauder example, the mutas themselves prioritize any marines in range over anything else because only the marines can shoot back, but the bounce attack can hit other marines or marauders -- whichever is closest.

I play Zerg and I always hotkey my eggs into my groups. For example, I just morphed 10 larva into zerglings (still in egg form) and I hotkey them into 1 along with my zerglings that are on the map. However, there are times when I press 1 1, the camera would shift to an area that is between my lings that are on the map and the lings that are being morphed instead of my lings that are on the map. Is there a way to fix this?

gl hf Sanyzoon Sc2 Scrapbook is what I use: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=287794. However it hasn't been updated in awhile and is a bit buggy. To change what build order is displayed you have to hit "close all overlays" then go to options and click "preview overlay" in which an example one will pop up then you double click yours and its good to go.
Have to play in windowed full screen I believe.
