Hey, short question.
Working on my toss offrace and in pvz i am going Nexus first every game.
However i have no idea where to place my first pylon. On some maps i make it part of the nexus building wall and on some maps i can put it behind the wall and wall with 2 building.
Then if i want to do a building wall with no nexus like on shakuras, depending on the spawn its is different. I never realized how lame the pylon radius nerf was when tosses were complaining but it sucks lol some maps i just royally fuck up my wall.
I know there is a thread explaining building placements but i cant find it for my search efforts. I also looked here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=284255 and no luck.
Can anyone point me to that thread if they remember relevant keywords? or is there as simple trick that i am missing that makes it simpler to determine 1st pylon placement in pvz? I expect to have to memorize all maps all spawns but if there is a trick that would be awesome.

I see mutas incoming late and want to quickly stim just my marines. I hit tab so that the marines only are focused on the bottom center info area and hit stim. Still stims marauders as well....wtf?? is this a completely pointless hotkey or am I an idiot? It doesn't work for marines and marauders because they all can stim. But I believe it is only for these units. Not an idiot, nor a pointless hotkey. If you want to stim specific units, you'll have to do it by boxing/double-clicking/ctrl-clicking a group of marines individually. Marines and marauders will share the stim hotkey when they're on the same control group. I have a similar question but with ghosts. When I have ghosts in the same group with my bio (I know it's better to have them in a different group but for walking around it's easier for me) I have to tab first to stim my bio. Question: Is there a way to change the hotkeys so I don't have to tab? I play with grid layout.
As others have said, use all your hotkeys, i have bound my 1234567890 to 123456 y h space caps, this way you can use all hotkeys comfortably with grid layout, i put ghosts on space, which is 9 i suppose, use my thumb, very comfortaable since your thumbs do nothing much anyways

Shakuras or the choke at tal darim are 3-gates-tight which you could just aim the pylon by having the radius of the pylon barely touching 2 side of the ramp.
On maps such at Shatter temple or antiga however is much much bigger so you need to either learn to wall with nexus as a part of your wall or put your pylon as a part of the wall. Best would be just to start block 1/3 of the ramp to your main from the outside and start building a wall from there.
the thread u might be looking for http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=62652 (lol jk-ing, i cant find it either)

Thanks for the bolded info i wasnt aware, that solves those maps but the other maps seem kind of random, sometimes i need to wall with the pylon + nexus but sometimes i dont :X. If anyone could link a thread with pics off FFE walloffs on all maps that would be sweet otherwise ill have to figure it out myself [not a huge problem]

Also, are there signs to know when to double forge? This isn't a simple question - we don't know anything about your opening, your opponent's opening, how the early game played out, what your opponent's unit composition is, etc. There's no simple formula for when it's advantageous to tech switch.
The closest I can come to a simple answer for you is: You generally don't want more than three Colossi in PvT. If they are particularly Marine-heavy, getting a fourth Colossus is often a good call. This is because it's too easy for the Terran to kill them all with Vikings and leave you with a pitiful little ground army. When you switch out of Colossi, though, it's usually to add HTs and/or Archons - with builds that don't rush to Colossi, it's pretty common to have already gotten Blink and Charge either before you start making Colossi or while you're building them.

Hi guys,
I am in plat and was cheesed with proxy 2 gate zealots.

Can someone tell me what I could have done better?
May be o ff topic, but....how do I post in blogs? I just want to show a replay to the TL community, but when I go blogs I cannot post...? Or perhaps there is a better place to post a quick, funny replay?

Wall-of, build bunker behind wall 4 SCVs for repair, after it is defended continue with your build, i.e. take gas - tech, expand. You just queued units, not taking your gas or building an CC. Then you had gas but didn't use it efficiently. Snipe observer when you see mass Stalkers, use scans to find out what he is doing. You had no idea what he was going for next.
Also: panic rax and panic bunkers put you far more behind than any cheese could.

I have the return page-key on my mouse assigned to backspace for every program on my computer (I did it specifically for SC2, hatch injecting, but it's not bad in other programs either). I am very used to this key now to jump between bases and inject. However, I just installed Bigfoot launcher so I can play on both my NA and EU account, while only having an EU client installed. Unfortunately, when I launch SC2 with bigfoot, it seems to ignore that changed hotkey. I tried just changing it in SC2 directly, it seems it's not possible to assign mouse keys there. Anybody got an idea how I can work around this? Thanks!

Do you guys know if roaches and infestors move faster on creep while burrowed? I would assume they would not but I was just curious if anyone knew.
|
Yeah, they move faster burrowed on creep. EDIT: Sometime ago I think I read on TL about a little program that retrieves information on your opponent when you're in the loading screen. Like star info, but instead of popping up in your stream chat, it just comes up as a bubble or something on the loading screen. Did I dream this or does anybody know where to find it? I can't find it with search...

I just started playing sc2 again and I thought I heard something about no close spawns on the ladder but I can't find anything on blizz's site about it.
Is it true or false???

There are no close spawns on metalopolis and shattered temple.

Maybe not such a simple question but I often hear people talking about Zerg needing to have an extra base to stay on par in ZvP and ZvT. Now I am sort of a newbie but it seems a bit like zerg tries to get more bases quickly which forces the opponent to harass which forces zerg to try harder to get the macro advantage which forces more harass. Maybe it's actually true that zerg needs more bases or maybe they just need it because of the harassment?

What is the correct Protoss response to a super-macro Terran, that opens with a single rax and then two command centers before taking gas? I've found out the hard way that 4-gate is useless, 6 marines plus all the SCVs WILL beat 8 zealots and 8 stalkers, and even if you kill every single SCV they still have an equivalent economy to yours with 3 OCs.

There are no close spawns on metalopolis and shattered temple. and on Shakuras of course On Shakuras he means no vertical spawns. example of vertical spawns, which DON'T happen: you ________________________________ x

To do some damage with early pressure I think you need forcefields on the backside of the bunker to prevent repair

Question here, whenever I play bio as Terran, I m-move my medivacs onto certain infantry units. That way, I never have to worry about them, and they can heal my bio whenever I stutterstup. however, I never see pros doing this, they tend to put their medivacs and bio on the same hotkey. Why is that?

Hey, i've been away for 6 months and I think the ZvP meta has changed slightly, it seemed the one that was evolving the most, leaning towards Mutas, am I correct of is the matchup still favouring roach ling infestor? Also the same with ZvZ, Idra started experiments with muta in this matchup, is this matchup a roach infestor war as it was, or has it evolved? Very broad I know, everything depends given the situation, but just asking for a quick once over, would be appreciated!
