That was a really really good idea, thanks <3 It looks like 365 is the bonus pool total in diamond??? I'm confused because I thought Excalibur_Z posted on bnet that it was up to 616 the other day?

That is weird, 365 points does seem to be too low.. It might be right though, I can't try from here. You sure you checked it in-game? Looking it up on battle.net for some reason gives really weird results for bonus pool.
Edit: Excalibur_Z spent a lot of time looking at the ladder as a whole, so I guess you could just follow by what he said, as long as he was on about the same league; I remember reading that master league gets a lot more bonus pool than the lower leagues.

Yeah, I just read a few mins ago that master's gets ~90 bonus points/week and lower leagues only get ~52 iirc. I guess that could be it but it does seem quite low for a season total.
Edit: Yes, I checked it in game off a guy who had 0 wins in my division.

Just checked, season 4 took around 7 weeks (excluding ladder lock). Which would come down to somewhere around 52*7=364 points, so I guess it's correct after all! :p
Seasons are just so short now, I guess that's why it feels like it's too low.

I really have trouble cuontering Banelings early in game as a Terran player. Can you tell me what you unit composition should I go for? Its mostly speedlings with banelings.

I assume it's about 15 seconds later or so. Followup Question: Is there any situation a good zerg would not send his 1st OL that way? 1:30 1:40 Not really. This is wrong. Please do not post answers in this thread if you do not know that they are correct. I send a Probe to check for an OL at just after 1:00 on both maps. If they send the Overlord straight at you, you'll see it. 1:05, as others have posted, is fine, but the closer you can shave the timing, the faster you can redirect your scouting Probe, which might save your ass against an early pool. A good Zerg might not send his first OL straight at you to deny you the early information about his spawning location. I've seen Zergs loop their OLs around a bit so that they aren't as easy to see coming.
I check for it at these times always, and I always see it pulling back... I guess it can be done earlier. I apologize.

Before you have tanks out banelings can be hard to deal with. You can mix in marauders to absorb baneling hits if youre trying to do a big early push but otherwise you will need tanks to be directly aggressive. Try dropping with marines or hellion harass if they are staying on pure ling/bling. You can be pretty safe behind a wall as long as all your marines aren't clumped in one spot.

Holy shit thanks for the tip!
You're probably out of luck though, it's not so bad moving your right hand to the left side of the keyboard I would imagine, because I did the same thing in the opposite direction for Broodwar, where my left thumb would hit Rctrl, left middle finger would hit "0" (for nexus) and left index would hit "p" (for probes, you can't change hotkeys in BW). You can do the same with right thumb on Lctrl and middle/index finger on F1, it's not so bad once you get used to it

What are the strengths and weaknesses with FE/Macro builds that involve pheonixes vs Terran?
I know that players like MC and Hero have used them but can't find any replays...
|
Should I cancel my 15 hatch if I detect a proxy two rax ZvT? It seems tough, but perhaps I just need to micro my drones better.

anyone have any thoughts on the new maps and its impact on ZvX?

PvZ.. how do you fight MASS MASS mutalisk.. I knew he is going 2 base (into secret third and forth later) mutalisk, so I opted to HT and blink stalkers, took third before he came.. I knew he is massing mutas though(had observer above them in his base).
My question: How do you position your army against mass mutalisk? 2 hts per mineral line, and blink with stalkers near? I mean mutalisk is really fast, they can move from one base to another in seconds, stalker blink are just to slow.. he can melt your probes in 1s with 30 mutalisks..
What do you do if he comes with mass muta under your mineral line, you can't just storm.. Do you pull your workers away and than storm or how? Have some stalkers in every mineral(it's just waste versus 30 mutas tbh).. Any tips how to fight this?

ZERG QUESTION
I put all my hatches on one control group.
If I build all drones, they go tot he right place. If I build all units, they go to correct place.
If I build Drones AND units, SOMETIMES the drones will rally to the place my military units are going.
Why is this? Why are my drones not going to the minerals when I am building units simultaniously? I Often check after and see the rally points are at the right place. Am I tweaking out?

compLexity Protoss player RSVP made an awesome thread here focusing solely on how to play against Mutas, would definitely recommend checking it out!

what I believe to be the strengths are such
1. Economy- Most obvious one, expanding early helps get that economy rolling 2. Scouting- Phoenix's are one of fastest units in game, very good to get in 1-3 early just to peek. 3. Reactionary play- Based off of scouting point, knowing what your opponent has with very fast scout allows you to transition appropriately, instead of blindly going certain tech route
my own perceived weaknesses
1.Risky expansion- Possible to lose early to a simple push 2. Marines- Heavy marine pressure early is very hard to stop if you're Chronoboosting out Phoenix, which is why it's hugely important to scout early to see if you need to get those sentries/gateways out ASAP or if you can slightly delay them for economy 3. lack of detection- in case they get a lucky build order involving cloak. even then, i usually get a forge with 1 cannon in main/nat incase they DO go cloak banshee, your phoenix can rip them to shreds
i'm a big supporter of phoenix FE openings vs T, just HUGE reliance on you scouting your opponent well

Ive always had trouble with the 'last alert' hotkey. I feel like every time I hit it when I hear a battle notification it takes me to my base for a finished unit or some shit. This is no bueno. I miss beginnings of surprise engagements. Is this just an issue of me not hitting the hotkey fast enough or something more? fwiw hotkey is pinned to spacebar
