Hey y'all.
I'm currently a silver league Terran player, I think I'm up for promo as am constantly being matched against gold and platinum players.
I've been having some trouble tonight though scouting Protoss strategy. I scouted double gas a few times tonight and usually that means dt's to me. I got some detection, but to my surprise toss only had talkers and immortals. later on ended up being fast colossi. I've also had fast void rays before too. And ht's.
How do you usually scout what toss is doing in the early to mid?
My build which was working great with a big mm+ghost and plus 1's push was working great until tonight where I've lost 4of 6 tvp.

usually it means either he will tech up fast or go for a fast expo with alot of sentry's to repell ur attacks, just use your scans correctly or go for banshee play to get some vision about what he's doing. key thing to the game is to know what your opponent is doing and countering that.

scan at certain time where you can see what tech they have/are getting?

well fast 2 gas might be 2 gate stargate VR + stalker push = mostly seen in steppes of war 3 Gate robo immortal or colossi push = meta, lost temple or Fast DT = jungle basin, delta,
I suggest getting a late reaper scout also don't be greedy with mules and scan

Well, one of my standard builds versus Terran is 3gate Robo, which requires a second gas at 22 supply (pretty early compared to my Gateway-based builds), so what he did really wasn't all that unusual. The only thing you can really expect from a relatively fast dual gas Protoss is... that they're going for a gas-heavy build. This means Templar (DT rush, HTs don't work), Robo (Immortals into Colossi, usually), or Stargate (VR rush, Phoenix play). How to tell which one he's going for? You just have to scan for it. Simple as that. You can send in a second SCV to scout his front if you really HATE using scans, but you'll have to be sure you're watching to see what kills it. A good response to this king of play from Protoss is to go 1-1-1, because that can handle everything Protoss will be doing pretty reliably: Ravens for DT rush, Vikings for Colossi/air, Medivacs to support an infantry army, whatever you want. Just make sure to not go too deep into counter units until you know what he's going for. Again, scan is your best bet. Much better to lose 270 minerals than the game.

Double gas just means a higher likelihood of one-base tech. There's still some expansion options like DTs or sentries, so you need a little bit more to go on than just that. The important thing is to keep an eye on his army comp.
If you see a ton of stalkers, it's probably blink stalkers. A ton of sentries and he'll have an excess of minerals going somewhere. If he has no army, then you start looking for detection and anti-air, because he's got some DTs or proxy air or something.

I wouldnt focus on the double gas'es... if you only see 1 gas then you should prepare for the inevitable 4gate push:-))

in order of likeliness it's either DT or voidrays. But a second gas past 20 supply isn't considered early anymore.
