What I like to do in these sticky situations is keep half or so of my lings out and about the map, so in case I am forced to fight in my own choke I can at least sandwich him from 2 sides. Just be careful not to get half your army caught and killed if you do this kind of army splitting. Chma

That said, the counter to blink stalkers is the same as regular stalkers: speedlings. If they blink up/down a hill, then the strategy is basically the same as dealing with reapers, split your lings between the top and bottom and surround them wherever they go. If they mass up and fight at chokes, then you need to spread creep, split up your forces, and flank to get your surround. Don't give them anywhere to blink TO unless they're trying to escape, at which point you've won because Lings don't cost gas and they need to tech switch (lots of P answers to mass speedlings, though, so you'll need to scout out a minute or so after the fight to see what he's doing).

What I've done so far is to get up to 35-40 drones (depending on map positions and my opponent's level of aggression) while teching to lair and defending with pure defensive speedlings and spine crawlers in order to delay for Hydralisks. Good creep spread is absolutely detrimental and your best hope is to lure him to commit (which good players unfortunately don't do) As soon ah you have him commited (i.e. he cannot escape) you have a very good chance of winning the game due to your superior economy. It's a very tough build to defeat and if you slip up in either micro or macro you can quickly lose the game. Also DO NOT LOSE OVERLORDS. Keep those motherfuckers in check, one supply block and you're done.

right click a sunken and blink away, dunno how they could help against it another problem is that the toss can tech to dark templars and expand quite easily. just snipe the overseer with your blink stalkers and your expansions are safe like forever and you can macro up terribly

speedlings work well vs. stalkers, especially if you nail the +1 attack upgrade, just need to keep working for the surrounds and pick good engagement spots scout him properly so you can get a read on stalker numbers and how many bases he has (drone accordingly until you need to pump lings), after stopping his first push you should be ahead and can try to counter for the win or transition to hydra/infestor/ling

Don't forget to drop 150 supply worth of banelings on top while your ultras are chewing on a perfectly surrounded fungal growth'ed stalkerball. I've seen it in GSL8, I swear, I think it was FruiTea or NesDealer.

Stalkers lose to pretty much every unit in the game in a head to head fight, but they will beat roaches for example if you let him blink to the back with low health stalkers. What i would do is keep roaches or hydras on the defense and then a decent force of zerglings out on the map roaming, and then if he attacks just sandwich him. If he doesn't attack just keep expanding and beat him in that macro game ![]() Um by the time you get hydras, if you still have a lot of roaches and a decent force of zerglings, then well.... you've won (unless some absurd non blink stalker stuff ensues). Make sure that can't be done. On December 01 2010 23:55 Arcanefrost wrote: I haven't watched the replay but speedling/baneling fairs surprisingly well vs 1base stalker. I'm pretty sure I failed miserably as a 1 base blink stalker toss if I like a bunch of lings + non speed banelings stop my push.
