Haha I used to play Halo 2 when it was an MLG game and i used to have a barbell next to me and do curls, extensions and flys in between games and then when i switched to WoW Arena I would do the same thing in between matches. It keeps my going and its a decent work out.

I thought i was the only person that spent alot of time thinking about this lol, i find that i can only play in short sessions otherwise my gameplay suffers. ive gone up 200 points on the ladder in the last week by taking breaks between games going for walks def helps

not sure how applicable for your situation, but there is something you can do that makes you play every single minute of your free time:
get married, get 2 kids, work a full time job and relocate to NYC. it usually is around 10-11 when everyone is asleep and I can finally launch SC2 and play and I usually play until 2am without taking a single break.

When i get tired after playing 4-5 really good games where im remembering to do everything Starcraft is very mentally tiring. I either go lie down for a bit or play some 3v3 randoms and just mess around with an off race. For me its terran i'll just play a few rounds doing outrageous things like Thor rushing or going nukes only after a game or two i'll be good to go again

This will only work if you relocate to NYC though.

Relocating is not an option, I think :D
However, doing more sports seems a good idea, while I have an subscription to a gym I rarely use it anymore. I used to go with a good friend who recently got his third child. And it's really not that much fun to go alone, before that we were going 3-4 times a week for about 2 hours (cardio and strength).
And hehe, regarding the smoking to get fresh air: I was a heavy smoker a couple months back, but managed to cut back to smoking just every couple days. My last cigarette has been on Saturday :D

Punish yourself! Whether is penalize yourself by doing x push ups and/or sit ups. Or, run around the block x times. Do whatever it is that physical, because you don't want to use your brain anymore, let it rest.

EAT A BANANA***
Playing sc2 can be quite energy consuming; simply stay well fed, and yeah even excercise (NOT with starcraft haha) for your OTHER parts of the body (starcraft only excercizes your hands, heart, and brain xD), will help you have more energy every day. Anything like jogging for a bit each day can help a lot, as it makes your heart stronger.
***Protip: When you're tired, or get that feel that feels as if you're sick, perhaps even slightly dizzy, cold, depressed, etc... EAT A BANANA! No joke. It simply means that your brain/body is low on sugar/energy, and a banana is an easy way to quickly resupply yourself with energy (sugar/energy will start kicking in in about 10 minutes). Also another fun fact is that this is recommended by the Princeton Review books, like for the SAT. They even have a little section giving you the best strategies that will lead to your ability to eat a banana, getting by possible problems such as if the proctor doesn't want to see food in the room.
Wow, isn't it wonderful how useful a cheap banana can be compared to a Stim -- i mean, steroid or other drug?

I drink some water and open the window for a minute to get some fresh air in.
But other than that, alot is about being used to playing for a long time and keeping your focus. Having a good attitude (not getting pissed about losing a game etc.) also helps alot.
