That said, if you can work burrowed roach tech into your current strategy and you like burrowed roaches, then by all means do it. Just think of it as opening the door to use this tactic in the future rather than as a surefire way to win the game. You should still have some sort of endgame that's more robust, but as long as you do I'm sure you should be fine.

It's only 150 extra min for the warren, and the Roaches aren't that heavy on gas. I have never tried it, but it seems like it could work Yeah, I've suggested this multiple times on these forums http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=129070¤tpage=29#575

i cannot test it now, servers are down .... but i guess no then if a terran guards his blocked choke, roaches can't get in anyways

Previously, you'd have no idea when they could burrow, and you might be caught off guard. Now, because roaches become asthetically different, it loses the surprise factor. Woah, really? I haven't noticed this, what changes exactly?

1) he can get a raven with MM 2) he can get a turret at is main ramp and spot the underground roaches and kil them fast specialy if he has siege tanks at is entrance with siege mode and yes i know that the roaches have great regen. but with detector and marauders they cant regen and theyre gonna get eaten fast (specialy if he focus fires one roach at a time)... so in that case... switch strategy.

In zvt it could be really good when responding to hellions > play normal but have slighty faster lair > fend off hellions while getting upgrades > most terrans will expand at the point you have like 12 upgraded roaches ready to tunnel inside their base. I experimented with the borrow unborrow mechanic (unborrow > shoot just 1 shot and burrow again, wait 1-2 secs and unburrow, you can move to get better position or not) and roaches even do fine vs marauders. 1) roaches have long cooldown, they better spend it underground with their insane regeneration rate. 1 marauder will not be able to kill a burrowed roach as it regens faster. 2) you can expect some free hits on the enemy before they even realise roaches are there. 3) even when scouted you can expect the terran not to have any scans availble. 4) you need some focus firing as terran because otherwise roaches can kill you with no losses even if you go pure marauders. 5) If the terran has scan the combat is in favour of terran if he focuses. If no detection > roaches rape everything. Basically if you can go past their choke and unburrow under their army unscouted it's a gg. This sound really cool when going against bio, I tried this before the regen was combined with the tunneling claws and found it quite awkward to use since the roaches move so slow when burrowed and found that the terrain was just kiting me. With the improved regen at lair tech and maybe with infestor support I could see this maybe working. I typically go muta baneling or hydra roach against bio but This could be worth a shot, way more micro intensive though
