I have to agree with Meerel here to a certain extend. Like a lot of other praised maps, this is very poorly done in terms of creativity and execution. Lotsa ppl here look at the creator's name rather than the work itself, including blizzard. That's a shame.
Random is hard work dude...

It's not completely terrible, and at least it's a different map in whats going to be all ladder pool tournaments again.
for that reason I won't put to much criticism on it.

the only problems with this map is that it's a better deadwing, in a map pool that still has deadwing

I think a bigger problem is how gom seems to be just randomly taking in korean maps without much thought.

The thing is that on the custom maps section of teamliquid.net, all the regular posters were praising Foxtrot while hating on DeadWing and having mixed feelings about Nimbus and Catallena. However we were vastly outnumbered during the TLMC by those who never opened the map editor and voted for a map just because the textures looked cool or it was a 3p map or "lmao 20 bases, I love me some more bases. DAE Alterzim stronghold ? xDD"
Sure foreign map aren't auto awesome but "our" TLMC and other map making contests are open to koreans while we can't even try to get our maps in the GSL (and let's not talk about trying to get them into Pro League)

This sentence would be true if you posted it on the "New WCS 2015 Season 1 maps" thread in the Sc2 general forum or on reddit.

as algue said, the foreign mapmaking scene isn't anything like what you say, there is an insane communication gap between the ones that make maps and the ones that play them.

the last TLMC was almost to be considered a joke.

Even as someone who doesn't browse the map forums often, I really really like Foxtrot and don't like Deadwing at all. At least of a casual low level player like me, I don't understand the mentality of wanting to play the same thing over and over again. Might as well just play a MOBA if you want only one map

For pros its a bit different, because they need to have near perfect understanding of a map nearly instantly or they're career suffers, but at the lower level I'm into trying new things. Not bad maps, but different ones.

Honestly, I think this is the wrong attitude. They should be able to put in time into understanding completely how a map works and, by doing so, gain a slight advantage. Although I don't believe that one should be required to completely relearn strategy to play a map too often (see (Wiki)Monty Hall).

I sent some suggestions to ATTx on skype , not sure if he did read them though. Anyway , tried some basic texturing in 1hour , map looks already pretty. If you people like it i might finish it and send the file to the creator.

I'm sorry, but if they are going to do the whole "equal" distance 3rds, I'd rather them just bring Whirlwind back. Congrats on getting in the GSL map pool, but unfortunately I just don't really like this map at all. :\

The layout overall is pretty boring. The Back paths by the 3rds aren't that interesting and the middle is boring.
