Alot of it comes down to the fact that the Zerg brings its theme with it through creep. And that is naturally not something that can be used as terrain. I think mapmakers might have avoided it due to alot of the risks involved. The terrain doesn't contrast alot with creep. Lava and fire can be tanky for the hardware if you aren't careful. But hey leading an invasion against the Swarm on their homeground just once would be nice rather than always defending our own cities. Or facing them in a jungle, or on a glacier or under the water or another Jungle or another area of highly questionable military importance. Good luck with the work. | ||

As for a Zerg theme, there's gonna be some really strong stuff coming in HotS(obviously), but way back when, I managed to pull off a pretty good approximation of the new char tileset, though the real thing is obviously going to be better.
