A new era of SotIS has begun; v6.0 brings new mechanics and a new map that brings you to a whole new battlefield!

v6.0 Gameplay Video






Storm of the Imperial Sanctum is a custom UMS for the Blizzard product Starcraft 2. Designed around the traditional AoS architecture, SotIS attempts to bring hero-based gameplay into the world of Starcraft, while maintaining the world-class visual presentation that Blizzard's Havok engine provides. Our design philosophy intends to produce gameplay that is familiar yet refreshing to both new and seasoned gamers alike.

Similar to predecessing AoS games such as Defense of the Ancients, Heroes of Newerth, and League of Legends - SotIS revolves heavily around hero-based gameplay. However, unlike such designs, SotIS introduces an element in the form of mercenaries, whose role in the game is to aid the early-game progress of your primary hero character. This inclusion should give rise to new forms of gameplay that require the unique micro and macro skills of the more RTS-focused player.


Game Details:
-Over 25 playable unique heroes with different abilities to play and master. Choose your favorite SC2 character like Tosh, Kerrigan, Tychus, Zeratul, or Jim Raynor!
-Customize your heroes with talent trees. Decide whether you want your hero to play offense, defense, or support!
-Over 100 items to use and customize!
-5v5 Moba game. Play as a team in order to achieve victory!
-Heavily balanced heroes to make the game more competitive and fun for both new and veteran players!
-Experience playing DOTA on SC2!

Inernal Version 2604



Gameplay
- Experience gain from hero kills increased by 25%.



Creep Handlers
- Tweaked creep spawn functions for game performance.
- Killing barracks now only increase the creep count in that lane by 1 (they still upgrade all creeps stats in your faction).
- Creeps are no longer worth less as a result of increased spawn counts.
- Destroying all barracks no longer automatically maximizes all creep upgrades.
- Barrack Health increased to 6000, up from 2555.
- Colossi and Ultralisks removed from ultra creep spawns.
- Main base health increased to 14000, up from 5000.
- Tower deaths messages now also specify the resulting resource gain.
- Initial passive income increased to 2, up from 1.



Scoreboard
- C.Minerals replaced with T.Minerals (Total Minerals).
- Gold Lost replaced with Damage Out.
- Mercs Hired replaced with Damage In.

Honestly, the game is becoming more and more like LoL and I must say I am not a fan of that. I'm also not a fan of the new map at all. I guess the new map is good for people who like to do nothing but gank. To me it feels like they are simply trying to copy LoL by adding a more robust jungling aspect and more brush areas.
Abstracts, the too long didn't read of the educated world.

The map size actually hasn't changed at all, but it does feel a little more spacious.

New Hero:
- Added Hybrid.MAAR.
- Added first person shooter mode (Type "-fps" to toggle). This is a graphic-intensive setting.
- Want a new angle on the game? Added Camera Flip. Type:
"-flip 0" for default settings.
"-flip 1" for 90 degrees.
"-flip 2" for 180 degrees.
"-flip 3" for 270 degrees.



Terrain
- Spruced up difference between faction terrains.
- Added juke spots in large tree clusters.
- Added additional structures and sight blockers to improve dynamics at P.Top/Z.Bot T2 tower locations.



Gameplay
- Total team experience gained from hero kills buffed per assisting hero. Base Formula is characterized as 75% of experience required for the dying player to reach the next level.

1 Assists: 110% Base Exp (55% ea., up from 50% ea.)
2 Assists: 120% Base Exp (40% ea., up from 33.33% ea.)
3 Assists: 130% Base Exp (32.5% ea., up from 25% ea.)

- Assist minerals now varies based on number of assisting heroes, rather than a flat 75%/n for (n>0) assist. Killing player recieves full minerals regardless of assist count.
1 Assists: 60% Base Minerals (60% ea., down from 75% ea.)
2 Assists: 90% Base Minerals (45% ea., up from 37.5% ea.)
3 Assists: 120% Base Minerals (40% ea., up from 25% ea.)

Barbed Plating

Garamond.Singsprocket
- SCVs now have the same attack priority as normal creeps.
- Attack range reduced to 6.5, down from 7.5
- Garamond can no longer attack side shops to build up SCVs.
- Mk38-Turrets are now worth 24-28 minerals when killed.

Subterran.Unix
- Reduced damage of Infested Airborne Division to 8/12/16/20 (+0.5% INT), down from 10/15/20/25 (+1% INT).
- Infested Airborne Division now has 4/6/8/10 charges.
- Fixed bug causing eggs to have a collision radius before eggs actually impact the target location.

Micro.Gravitus
- Psionic Slam cooldown increased to 16 seconds, up from 13 seconds.

I initially didn't like the new map very much, but after playing about 250-300 games on 5.0 I'm starting to like it more and more. The old map was SLIGHTLY imbalanced in Zerg's favor, because it was easier to gank Toss's top lane, and the 2nd mid tower could be attacked from the high ground without taking any damage by a ranged Hero. I like the new map better now because it's more symmetrical (Read as: More balanced). I feel like ganking now feels like it costs something with faster creeps, like if you don't get a hero kill from the gank you'll be behind on levels from laning because you won't be able to get back in time. I personally don't like Maar, because he encourages backdooring too much, and the firewall is essentially like a speed bump thats easy to spam especially in the lategame.

I've played Zeratul since 4.3, and have been leaning Drake and Cyprus recently, 1k-300 stats. Send me a message if you wanna practice, test, theorycraft or just get a party going. Chumley.527

Notable Changes

Stable Releases
- Stable versions of the map will now be released as "Storm of the Imperial Sanctum (Stable)". Current version is 5.14. (This will be added on March 13th).
- The version ("Storm of the Imperial Sanctum") of the map will now be updated more frequently as it will now be considered the (Unstable) version of the map.

Heroes
- Dustin.Brawler added.
- All heroes have undergone modifications to clarify their character archetypes. Details are listed below.
- Lord.Zyrkhan, Roulette.Jackson, System.Cyprus, Gabriel.Tosh, EnTaro.Tassadar, Toximancer.Vespus, Hybrid.MAAR, Viron.Volkov have been temporarily suspended.

Talent Trees:
- All talent values readjusted for 6.0 scaling, several reworked.
- Flash removed. Replaced with Reconnissance: Reveals target area for 6 seconds. 1 minute cooldown. (Does not detect cloaked units).
- Reboot removed. Replaced with Defense Matrix: Buffs all allied structures for 6 seconds, granting 100% Damage Resist and Weapon Speed.
- Evasion removed. Replaced with Protect: Grants the user 50% Damage Resist and Debuff Immunity for 2 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
- Sprint no longer grants Weapon Speed, now grants 33% Movement SPeed for 15 seconds instead.

Terrain:
- Reworked to reflect v5.0 values with v4.0 aesthetics. Contrast improved between lanes to boost character visibility.
- River reinstated.
- Aeon and Leviathan spawn locations swapped.

Systems:
- Palette swapped to natural terrain.
- Terrain design is now landmark-based.
- Towers improved with new models.
- Fleet Beacon / Nydus Worm replaced with Artifact Shrine.
- Aeon no longer grants a team buff.
- Aeon boss difficulty significantly decreased.
- Leviathan renamed to Daggoth.
- Daggoth boss difficulty significantly increased.
- Player statistics are no longer displayed in the leaderboard.

Mods/Admins should have the power to change a topic title, so I guess you just contact and kindly ask them.

You might want to ask for a change which just does not list the version number in the thread title at all, so you would not have to change it again with every update.

I don't like the changes made to Egon since 3.0 or whenever it was.

I also want to see some cool heroes like Meepo style or even just invoker style or something.

I haven't been playing for those/that reason(s). I haven't seen a hero that I like (although there are some new heroes I haven't tried)

There's currently no AI map for SotIS. Hopefully someone is willing to step up for it.

Egon was designed to be a healer, not so much as a battle healer but possible. They're always popping new heroes once every 1-2 weeks, so always feel free to suggest what kind of hero you're looking for!
