Correct, though it was already this way in the mod.

Good find, I noticed this as well, will put it in the next update along with a few other changes.

Overall I didn't find much more in this battle report than the other two. I have a few things that I need to recheck but the only real significant change I noticed was that weapon upgrades affect the Widow Mine's damage. I should have an update ready soon but there won't be too many changes from the current version.

is it possible to play other maps than daily map? would be nice ,becouse snowy maps hurt eyes like hell:-) regards.

XenoX should start use double map rotation. I mean 2 maps. One 2v2 and other 1v1.

Or really start use 4 player big maps so we will be able to play on one map all game modes including 1v1 and 2v2

There's a discrepancy between the collapsible rock towers in this mod and in HOTS. The rock tower actually leaves a normal 6x6 destructible rock next to it, but the tower itself never disappears.

Also, since the jungle map I've shown, Eternal Scar, was featured in the battle report, I'd like to propose once again remaking that map for use in the mod. What I've got so far:

Why reaper's range is 5 like in WoL? I thought in HotS reaper's range is 7. Sorry if it was mentioned.

Here are some feedback about some uncorrect or aesthetically wrongly things:

- make abduct process 50% slower. It's very fast now

- bosonic reactor at fleet beacon

- use SoulFilcher's model of Warhound. Because Goliath really confuses many people. SoulFilcher did great job with warhound model, it's 90% similar to original model. Contact him at sc2mapster

- change Viper portrait from Leviathan to Brutalisk. For now it's closest to the original viper portrait. No eyes and similar zergy face

- fix changeling model animation

- make changeling drop animation slower

- add 2 sec coldown to changeling drops. We don't know is it in hots, but I think it will be just normal optimization to that ability

- fix Locust lifetime upgrade icon in production tab while watching replay

- make two swarm host types selectable like one unit. Now it's completely separate units (burrowed and unburrowed swarm host)

- fix widow mine walk animation. It's 500% very fast now


- add icons from SoulFilcher map. His icons are great and colored! You really should contact him. Contact him at sc2mapster. You can grab icons from here (his map is free to edit):

Make your map more polished! Try to minimize confusing stuff, like goliaths and non-colored icons. Make it even more cool





Why reaper's range is 5 like in WoL? I thought in HotS reaper's range is 7. Sorry if it was mentioned.

That map sucks, really... no need to make any of Blizz shown maps. I mean, it is OK till the 4th, there it is just breaks since as shown taking the 4th would be really hard, and of course there is no 5th. I think if you want to make it you should make it bigger and add a couple of expos. Also maybe make the nat entrance smaller.

As for the Heart of the Swarm graphics, it would look nice yes, but as I've mentioned long ago I am not really interested in using Heart of the Swarm assets in my map because I don't want to rip any of Blizzard's original content. I also think the current icons and graphics are close enough to the original that most people shouldn't be confused by it, I can't see how they would be.

I fully understand the popular hatred of all maps Blizzard, but I think the map should be included.

Not every map needs to facilitate hour-long macro games, if a map only really works until the 30 minute mark that's fine. Beside that, the balance of the game is completely different, so things like a slightly harder natural won't work the same at all. For instance, Protoss, the one race that needs a natural choke the most right now, has quick and easy access to a powerful defense through the mothership core, so it might not even be an issue anymore. I'm not working to fix these maps to Wings of Liberty standards, I'm doing it to allow players to experience the same thing you see in the battle reports. This isn't as likely to be competitive either, the balance is nonexistent, and it's about experiencing the new units and features. I simply propose the addition of a new map, you can take it or leave it.

But those icons are not rip from official one. Every icon is a funmade icon from SoulFilcher. Some icons are default icons from sc2 assets (like Ultralisk speed, there was upgrade for ultra speed in early beta, that was removed), some icons are just remakes of official icons. Or Oracle abilities. Those icons was made by SoulFilcher long time ago before hots reports are out.

So you should not worry about using official HotS assets. There are only user-made icons and they're nice too.

So I think there are nothing bad and wrong with using these SoulFilcher's icons and his model of Warhound (Goliath + enlarged SCV) or using Brutalisk portrait for Viper.

Current icons just one colored icons. Look at official icons and look at SoulFilcher's icons. They're nice and fits to official icon style.

Whats wrong if someone have photoshop skills and can draw icons like official developer? Whats bad if custom map can be more polished in terms of icon and media design?

You already did nice job with your own style of HotS Custom 2 logo and loading screens. Why not expand it to the icons and make them nice too?


P.S. Another confirmation that these icons above are not official, because in Battle Reports we only saw placeholders, like oracle icon for Energize, photon icon for Purify, etc

Hey guys patch 1.08 is now up on all servers, and includes all the changes I found in the latest TvP Battle Report. Not too much noteworthy apart from the Ultralisk change, but little things such as the slight reduction in Warhound radius might have a bit of an impact on the balance side of things. As always if you notice any discrepancies or issues with the map please let me know and I will fix them. Unit Tester is still not fixed but I will try to get this done in the next patch, I think the Arcade patch 1.5 messed up trigger copying between maps in such a way that it will take some time for me to fix this.

Patch Notes 1.08
- Ultralisks now do 15(+25) to light damage instead of 15(+20) to armor (upgrades also changed to reflect this)
- Widow Mines now have top subgroup priority in selection groups
- Widow Mines detonate damage now has upgrades with +6 target damage, +2 splash damage
- Oracle's Bosonic Core moved to Fleet Beacon from Cybernetics Core
- Constructible Rocks now have 4 second delay before rocks are constructed
- Constructible Rocks become regular unattackable rocks after constructing destructible rocks beside them
- Warhound unit radius reduced from 1 to 0.8175 (affects clumping)
- Warhound slightly resized & Tempest slightly larger
- Burrowed Swarm Hosts now share the same selectrion subgroup as Unburrowed Swarm Hosts
- Widow Mine now has 0 armor from 1
- Mothership Core now takes no supply

Oh and Existor, I understand that some of the graphics were made by other people, but I am quite happy with how it is now. If the specific creator(s) of the graphics want to message me about contributing to the mod I might consider using them, but that would be the only way. I do appreciate the thought however so thanks for letting me know either way.

Wait, ultralisk now have bonus damage to light units? Can someone give proof about that ultralisk change? If it's really intended, so no questions then.


And fix minimap please! It confuses now with wrong terrain and HOTS letters at the bottom part

I dont see a problem for u to use graphics which Existor posted upper... It looks so great.

Pls add some another map, to be able to play atleast 2 of them. I am still blinding by snow and cannot play with m8s.

As I said before, Ultralisks didn't change, and changes doesn't make any sense. They are actually less useful now.
