SC1 Greatest Hits is a compilation map of several UMS games I consider to be very fun and replayable. Host it and you can start any of the games available, and type ?rm to to return to the virtual lobby to start a new game.
I believe most TLers like to play microing/control maps, so I'll start by detailing "Block the Gate". To those unfamiliar, you are in a human team controlling "role" units on a cliff. Computer units below come swarming and everyone must act quick to suppress them, usually by blocking the cliff choke point. The map I ported from has 40 levels varying from hit-and-run attacks, surgical pre-emptive strikes, to all out battles. I added another 40 micro-intensive levels like mutalisk vs archon to contrast the multitude of mass maps on SC2 battle.net. Start off with this game solo if you are unfamiliar with StarCraft UMS, or I can explain other games.
Big Game Hunters is an obligatory remake since I consider it the most popular SC melee map, that is also used as a template for many other games. I emulated the original vanilla phantom (no Paladins) for those who enjoyed playing BGH Phantom.
Art of Defense is a team base survival, like its descendants "OMFG the X". Your team has a short time to prepare a resilient defense before the masses of enemies come storming in waves, for 35 minutes.
SCV Football is a simple sport-themed game. Control a squad of SCVs and use teamwork in 3vs3 to carry the football to the enemy team's end zone.
Dodge the Rapierist if you like microing you'll probably like dodging games, which involve a lot of precise clicking. It is a team tag-to-revive map where you travel your unit across the map filled with touch-and-die wanderers. The original map had 10 levels, I added another 10 with enemies using abilities such as storm and blink to make it even more interesting. There is a new Waldo mode that I really enjoyed creating; you must find among the hundreds of wanderers in the map, 3 wanderers that look exactly like others, except smaller.
If you have friends to play with, then start any of the games I listed, or you could play single player in Block the Gate or Dodge the Rapierist just fine.
To those who are bored with the same madness and TD maps in battle.net "2.0", I hope this will refresh and quench your nostalgia for the fun old UMS.

anyways... Great job on this map! If you happen to edit the OP with a list of names of people who would be willing to play this game, then be sure to add me!
@Barrin I considered all the maps you listed before but thought they are very niche games (mostly because they takes more skill).
@Omniscient I don't know when/if this map will get popular enough, but when it does I suggested the channel "UMS" for those to idle in to look for players.
@WniO What did you like about Vulture Tag?
Are you guys able to find the map? I should have mentioned that it's published in the US server only. Go to the battle.net Create Game screen and search using the keyword "greatest", you'll see SC1 Greatest Hits there.
Those who have tried some games, what do you guys think?
Very awesome map for nostalgia but it needs a lot of balancing and fixing. I only really have experience with the BGH phantom as I haven't played this that much but from what I gather it should be made to play the same as in BW. Remove the SC2 units and upgrades and keep the tech paths the same as in BW. The phantom also seems to receive a little too many resources as he was able to 1v3 early on with no difficulties. Lastly, the 20 gas per trip is very odd, it should just be changed back to BW values.
Using the starcraft 1 mod would probably work the best.
@Pistolfied Thanks for pointing out the 20 gas, it was meant for the Art of Defense geysers; I've changed the BGH ones to 8 gas per trip now. I never had a chance to test Phantom with people so I don't know how balanced it is. The phantom resource grades were adopted from an SC1 map. I'll recalibrate it as more players respond. Concerning the SC1-SC2 differences, I will have to wait until the expansions to come out with hopefully all SC1 units included in order to balance the tech trees. Again, thank you for your feedback as this map really needs it in this early stage.
To all everyone suggesting maps, I'm familiar with all of them and have considered to remake them before, but I was reluctant because usually they are too skill-based, takes a long time for players to learn, or are just very complex maps to remake. If this map do get popular, I will reconsider remaking them so niche players like you can enjoy them
In the future the channel is UMS, or you could just go to the official Custom Games channel and invite others to the game.
If you guys want to support this map, start it and idle in it when you're not playing SC2 to slowly boost the map in the list, and eventually the map will gain enough visibility in the list for others to join and play
