spider mine works in quite an odd way. to recreate it's exact mechanic from BW. basically it gets a target. pops up. then after a delay is ordered to attack the cloaked unit. unfortunately the order is unable to target it cloaked and so it fails. i temporarily disabled it from seeing cloaked as DTs would walk past and the mines would constantly unburrow and reburrow over and over again. have been trying to devise a solution.

Ah okay, that sucks :/

have unburrowed spider mines able to attack a cloaked unit that they were ordered to attack.

just noticed that the guy who stole your work has his map spotlighted on EU... gotta feel bad about this
|
he didn't steal it. he asked for it. he has my full permission. im not angry at him either. the situation does piss me off but the only person there is to blame is Blizzard.
but custom map spotlight does shed light on the retardation @ Blizzard given they featured the wrong Zealot Frenzy map... one that i hear is broken.
in other news i had someone ask me for permission to publish on KR. so hopefully it will be available there too now.

MavercK: "he asked for it" "publish on KR" hope they take good care of it, showcasing hosting patching, it's all good providing you get credit for the map and they get credit for what they do, which is integral to the three realms blizz edict. Hopefully people will know who got the hardest part of the job done!

well atleast this guy asked. my Standard Tower Defense was stolen by some random korean and he edited his name in and claimed it as his work. heh
|
if I know your workmanship then it is played (?), so let's advertise said mannerism to find players on KR to go f..k him up ingame then... until he acknowledges it... time consuming i know.
|
haha well i've discontinued development of Standard Tower Defense so i am not bothered. EleTD has resumed development and that'll blow it out of the water anyway .

Btw cant wait for 1.2 to come out and the new version of this to come out with it!!
Gonna try and make a chat channel for this hope people join it
Also would we be able to expect some new maps (howabout some of the classics, python/desti/fighting spirit)

I'm up to get one of my maps in your scbw map pool, it'd be MY honor... I posted cause scbw is rather on the imba side, and I love that... since most of my maps seem to lear towards "other" play + Show Spoiler +(at least that's what I got from showcasing them) , I feel they would work rather well... producing more of a 2/4 hours game type that you want to save and get several days out of them...+ Show Spoiler + (I'm not even sure saving is possible...meh) In any case, I feel it's your call... so feel free to blow me out of the sky!

well hopefully with 1.2 i'll be able to include more maps it should also be possible for people to simply use the mod and upload maps themselves and if i update the mod their maps should update aswell.
in theory. if blizzard dont mess it up.

yes

I've noticed many air units seem to be bunching up very strongly, even moreso than in Starcraft II, rather than fanning out slightly. I've recently played a series of PvZ games against a friend of mine and his Mutalisks/Scourges just couldn't even get close to my group of 5/6 corsairs before his entire stack melted away to area-of-effect damage. I wonder, was this intentional?

stacking air units currently works without the bug of grouping a unit offscreen. he may be accidently clumping his mutalisks? either that or mutas spread more in sc1 than i realised and porting corsair splash range directly has been a fairly large buff to corsairs. i'll look into it more.
but basically tell your friend if he wants to not stack his mutas he just needs to watch out for the magic box rules. just pretend corsairs are thors.

thats basically what i've done. theres no flag or anything as far as i know that allows it to target cloaked. the only work around i can think of is to make it trigger based.

but basically tell your friend if he wants to not stack his mutas he just needs to watch out for the magic box rules. just pretend corsairs are thors. There's multiple things affecting this issue I think:
1) You've changed acceleration/manoeuvrability/turning speed statistics etc. to match the Brood War Mutalisk. However, the spread algorithm in SC2 was probably written for units that accelerate a lot faster and as such it can take very long for a clump of mutalisks to spread evenly; sometimes this doesn't happen at all until the control group has been given multiple move orders.
2) With the stacking air units thing happening as soon as you break the magic box rules, it's really easy for the stacking to occur without meaning to. Once you've formed a stack, 1) will make sure that they remain stacked for quite some while
3) I've noticed that Mutalisks, when stacked too tightly, will not attack. While I understand that you wouldn't a death ball of 60 stacked Mutalisks instakilling everything, I've run into a problem that can occur when you just a-move your Mutalisks into an opposing force. The Mutalisks will bunch up on the first unit they meet and once the stack gets too high, a fraction of Mutalisks exceeding the stack limit will move past the opponent's army (often easily well beyond the magic box limits) and the next move command you issue will insta-cluster the entire force.
4) Corsair splash radius here seems a lot larger than it used to be in BW.
Hope this helps!
