I don't get it sc2 map editor is confusing.
I duplicate the unit, then when I try to place it it becomes invisible. sooo I'm like hmm... then I duplicate the actor and link it to the duplicated unit. I now have a white and black semicircle.
now I have no idea what to do.
I might be doing something wrong. I'm trying to make a new marine. so I duplicate the marine unit and name it marine2.
then I go to actors and duplicate the marine and name it marine3
then I find out that the map editor has created a marine called "Marine Copy" and linked the duplicated marine actor to it????? so I try to link it back to Marine2, but the data is still for the Marine Copy. so I'm like okay, whatever, ill just use the marine copy instead of marine2 right? noooooo when I try to set down the marine copy the icon is the little protoss thing and its invisible. When I try to set the Marine2 the icon is a marine, but the model is a half circle.

I have a new problem, when I try to manually change the data to get it for marine2 I found out that I had made like 10 copies of the Marine (I'm not kidding Marine Copy, Marine Copy 2, etc) even though I just tried twice or three times?

The Starcraft custom map making community is based out of http://www.sc2mapster.com. You should look there for help. Your problem is your actor isn't linked to your unit correctly.

When you duplicate a unit, it changes the model to a copy of the model, which wont show up ingame. you have to go to the actor tab, and change model, model(build), and model(placement) to whatever model you want.

Don't duplicate, just add new object for unit, actor and model. For each, import settings from Marine when you create them and change Unit Name to your new unit name.
I'm not going to bother with the editor though until they release a program where you can import and animate your own models.
