What would it take to get 12 "known" players to compete in a "12 player best of 7 king of the hill tournament"?

bo7kingofthehill:
the tournament is played on 12 player maps with points awarded for "surviving more" than on "actually winning each match".
Winning player gets 12 points for winning, first to die gets 0 (all in between get "x")
add points and see who is the best at:
- surviving in 12 player maps
- making allies during these first "rounds"
- impressing people

edit/ps: seems like the best rts players would be "showcased as such" in such a format.. no?

You have made a 4 player map (added 4 start location on the map) and
you have added one extra player in the player properties

These get added in the
3
(2 different windows: team stuff and advanced) windows

the idea is to disallow specific positions
then you do it, because I know you are smart.

I've tried several variations in player properties menu, but the other player will appear sometimes in the wrong place :/

You mean this > LINK does not help at all?
By default you have 1 player in the player settings.
You add a second player with the same "random start location" "user select race" etc (you do not change "player 0" stats).
Then you read the guide in the link.
Then you make all the spawns possible and not the ones you don't want.

do you guys remember how in warcraft 3 if you play humans you can use more than one "scv/worker" to FASTER build structures. i think this would be a great idea for starcraft , if u can use multiple scvs to build structures quicker

This is doable in the editor. You'll need to give your structures a Build in Progress ability that has the field Stats: Maximum Builders increased to whatever. Might only work with Build abilities that have the Maintain Worker flag checked, such as SCV- Build.

Yes. Since you can access the mpq files you can pretty much do what you want with a map
(that does not makes it keep its melee tag though),
you go in the mpq file and change what is the "ladder countdown" sound to a sound you have imported in the map: applicable other countdown.
Might be an option by now, you might just want to add "pro" modded map's asset(s) (a mod) to your own so as to get it without breaking a sweat.
