Joking aside it was way easier to just redo my starting template, making maps is a blast, I think I have an original design, (but that might just mean its bad haha.)

How am I supposed to mirror my map when I keep getting this error? I try to drag a box to copy paste terrain and it goes all jaggedy. It wasnt like this before, and I've tried "New Map" and restarting... Usually its a perfect square. + Show Spoiler + It looks like my boxes just form a square but to a different angle... ugh

Tools -> Diagonal Selection
You probably accidentally pressed CTRL+D at some point. BTW, you don't need to copy symmetry by hand anymore; there's now a symmetry tool you can access via Map -> Map Symmetry and enable via Tools -> Use Symmetry.

Is there a reason why Ctrl+D exists? That was a scary, also thank you thank you!

How do you make players force Cross-pawns? Like Foxtrot labs.

File -> Open -> Blizzard -> Shakuras Plateau Map -> Player Properties -> Team Placement
This is an example of "close spans disabled". Study how this works and you will understand spawns of all kinds.

Are there any starcraft 2 campaigns made by community members. Like in BW there was this pretty known one called Enslavers or something like that. Is there something similar in sc2.

Is there something similar in sc2. EivindL over at sc2mapster created a campaign trilogy that you might want to play. If you're looking for additional campaigns, a group of people compiled a list of custom campaigns, though the quality of those campaigns vary a lot. I hope you find something you enjoy.

Oh man if only battle net 0.2 had a way to play custom campaigns ;_;

How do i give my custom unit a model?

In order to assign a model to a unit, you'll need to create an Actor and a Model, and afterwards link model to actor and actor to unit. You should examine how the standard units are set up. I copied the marine to my new unit and changed a few thing, but for some reason the actor in the marines list called "marine" isn't in my custom unit, and I can't figure out how to make a similar one and attach it to my custom unit. The "marine_death" actor isn't there either.
|
Duplicate more of the unit's data when making a copy or a custom unit. Under the units tab, select the marine and right click-> Duplicate Unit. Make sure the Marine Actor is checked. It is generally good practice to duplicate any Data that is unique to that unit. Actors can only be tied to one unit at a time, so the unit's Actor is always unique to that unit.
If I were for example, to want to change the new Marine's Stimpack ability, I would duplicate that as well as the Stimpack upgrade, button, and behavior.
|
alright.
How would I give the marine a different model though, for example, a civilian?
|
Duplicate the model as well. Then go to the Models tab and find the duplicate you just made. Under Basic: Art - Model hit browse and find the Civilian model you want to use. For that one I think you will need to have the WoL campaign dependency loaded into the map.
