Actually I expected this exact question and am surprised it took this long. I didn't end up answering it in my OP because i forgot.
Basically after the pheonix change I thought this might help break the communication barrier with what we are on about when it comes to micro. It would also be nice to know that micro is actually possible with the SC2 engine.
While there's a lot to hope for, I am not expecting much, I am merely doing this for fun.

I'm curious about the SC2-developers ever having played SCBW....
If they don't even get what we mean with that sort of micro, I highly doubt their actual knowledge about SCBW, SC2 and making good games in general. They seem to be very interested in dumbing it down for noobs to play, though I'm not sure why.

Initial reaction: Wooow man this is awesome. ;D
Second reaction : nerd chills and spams.
Why do I as a player want this:
1. It provides more incentive to split up your mutas
2. Makes me question: How many shots does it take to kill a thor?
3. makes them devils in the right players hand.

is it possible to have stack mutas and get rid of the deceleration with the editor?

My SC2 won't launch anymore, I get this error every now and then and it really annoys me D:
Once I reinstall SC2 (its really just re-patching, i have an installer) and check that the map is all fine and dandy, ill upload it

Not enough as long as glaive wurms don't bounce to the left, mutas attack different units with hold, same with patrol, and spire costs 200/150. Otherwise, I'm disappointed.
...
Jk of course. Great map. I'll try it once I get back from school.

Just saw the new version... awesome. Im glad you are doing this. Blizzard should take a look at this and change it. Its not about BW vs SC2, its about fluidity and skill. I think if people who had never seen SC before saw mutas attacking like that they would be way more impressed than if they were stopping to attack every time. Blizzard supposedly wants SC2 to catch on and be a great spectator esport etc, well this looks more impressive by far. I highly doubt that making mutas more capable for high level players will "break" lower level play and strats beyond what a few tweaks would solve.

Sorry you'll have to wait, just like everyone else.
Damn that quote can be really useful sometimes. :D

I thought back in Blizzcon when sc2 was first introduced, mutalisk stacking was possible, but then some tester stacked like a bizillion mutas and just went around and started 1 shotting every single building, and then they removed it.
Assuming that is true and the engine is still the same, you should be able to reproduce mutalisk stacking.

Very nice. I never understood the argument that having muta stacking would lead to people having bazzlion mutas stacked and one shot everything- If you have the resources to do that, you have already won, and if not, you have no ground army. Hopefully blizz changes phoenix, muta, and every other unit with an animation to make this possible.

Im not a programmer etc, but would it be impossible to make them spread differently the more you have in a control group? Like between 1 and 15 theyll stack decently, but after that they start to "dislike" being stacked and they spread more? This would solve the 50 mutas one-shotting a building problem, even though its a bit hacked together of a concept.
Even if they refuse to make them stackable, moving shot like this should be in for sure.

Nawww, that would require an algorithm. And yes its pretty easy to do with triggers, but I'm doing this via editing the data only, so its independent of coding which makes it easier to make the change.
The most you can do is find a collision radius and repelling force (dunno if there is one yet) that would break the group after the 12 mark.

after fooling around i realize its more than muta stack that need to be "fixed" to make it work like mutas in sc1. basically air units in sc2 turn around in 0 sec even if u change the turn rate of them. the turn rate just applies if its outside of like 180 degrees. what i mean is that when i used muta stack here i could just walk back and forth in a straight line even when i changed the turn rate. plus since most units clump so much i doubt it will even be effective vs marines. in sc1 units would react slower on attack move compared to target fire thats how it was so damn much better to focus on micro. i think blizzard should bring this back because i feel its more important than abilities itself. in sc1 if u just a-move into a ling army then they wont start attack until about 0.5 sec while in sc2 their reaction speed is 0.0 sec even if it was outside range

Units have scanning functionality. There are several variables you can change, although I haven't tested this out. It might make a difference.
Basically you could try experimenting with "scan range" and any flags that deal with scanning and attacking. I increased the scan range on the mutalisk to see if that would help it target units faster and reduce delay. You have to go to the weapon not the unit though.

i dont think u can change this stuff in the editor to be honest with u i think the engine doesnt simply allow something "flawed" as this feature/bug that sc1 had

how would muta stacking work in the age of unlimited selection? Like whats to keep you, as people have said, from getting 50 mutas in one stack?
