Point of Emphasis: THis is how bw was meant to be played. We see our very own white boy in korea doing some nasty work with a nice zerg gamer. JUST DL.

This replay is great, it showcases pretty much all of the defensive strengths of Terran - medic wall, +3 tanks, restoration, a fuckton of turrets, etc. Entertaining for sure, and nice use of medics.

It was good but I think Z should have put that 8k min to better use by taking those depleted gas from idras main so he could use more defiler ling instead of wasting money on a few ultras

yea 9 rax minimum for a 3 base terran. And I think zerg should've used queens for the tanks. But otherwise good job to the winner.

It was definitely an interesting game, I'm not sure how that zerg lost it...well I am sure, I'm just saying it's surprising. He should gathered forces more towards the end instead of just tossing away tiny groups with 2 swarms vs 500 tanks. Still, a hell of a game.

It's almost sad to see how Korean Zerg players with godlike mechanics, sick timing and macro and 400 apm manage to think for themselves so little

Idra played incredibly good, but there's still place for improvement

Korean training starting to show its mark

You haven't seen too many replays of progamers, have you ?

Nice game, but pretty "foreign" level. Both players losing TONS of units when it wasn't necessary... Take the first batch of marines... Idra loses all of them to the first round of lurks. I don't remember seeing Nada or OOV ever rush a wall of lurkers and lose their marines like that. Zizi could have pushed it right there for the win (and any pro would have, for that matter).

Plus Idra simply abandoning all those barracks to ling+ultra... That's 1200 minerals right there, in a moment where things weren't looking too dandy for him.

But that's just my untrained eye, so take it with a grain of salt

It was an ok game, but nothing special IMO... Well except maybe the high unit count.

IdrA's choice of leaving his main behind was perfect. It was drawing to the late game, lots of gas depleted, and IdrA had control over 5000 x 3 geysers. Better let the main be and just tank up like he did ;O

Idra needs to work with his macro. It was stupid choice to waste zerg units like that.

O_o

I guess we have different types of enjoying a match. Because I liked the flow of the game, of course they could have made better decisions, micro better, etc. But hey you should tell that to Savior nowadays...

uhhh

"Foreign level" He's playing a semi prok korean and IdrA has been trained to play korean style. Also IdrA had one of the best TvZ's if not the best outside of korea I don't know how we can say "foreign level" whatever that even means.

The stuff you brought up and backed with "I Never saw nada do that" is absurd. Nada is miles ahead of 99% of KOREANS you realize that? DOn't compare IdrA to the impossible standard of Nada. YOu will ALWAYS be disappointed.

i thought that was pretty bad. and i'm not from the ghetto so bad = bad.

i like idra's tvz, but this particular replay was lackluster. I don't know how to explain it but idra just looked sloppy.

Incontrol you do know that people criticizing players in the replay are not personal attacks directed at you and you can stop acting like they are every single time. The comments section is for comments. Your nonstop yelling at people really gets tiresome.

Ok, I didn't mean anything bad by it, chill guys. I'm just saying Idra is still pretty unconvincing, even after practising in BW land. He's very good, but he's lacking that "je ne sais quoi" that koreans playing in pro teams display. The closest thing I've ever witnessed in terms of a "foreigner" getting close to pro levels was a game of Draco's when he was playing there.

I remember it left a "progamer" impression on me back then. Probably a combo of sick macro and insane micro... Can't remember vs who it was tho.

I'm not saying Idra couldn't reach that level, but he's not there just yet. He's young and has all the time in the world... If he's got the insane dedication required, I'm sure he will be there someday.

My initial comment was simply meant to combat statements such as "the best game ever", "omgzors" and stuff like that, which was simply out of place. Yes it's a nice game, but OMG level ? I fear not.

Stop taking everything so personal... It's all for fun. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

i agree with tomcat, especially the comment about draco. i'm pretty sure draco achieved the highest level from all those who went to korea in our recent years (excluding the crucial old schoolers)

and i dont think incontrol was taking anything personal, i just think he was defending his friend and there's nothing wrong about that

not to mention idra wasn't in korea for very long, and many of us still have high hopes for him. go idra !

What Tomcat said.

Fun replay, but I knew IdrA was going to win from the get-go just because of the uploader.

.sigh.

You know, you can post [Media] player losses every once in awhile. We won't judge.

Very nice game Sometimes it feels like he gets just a bit carried away in all that nifty rine micro and forgets to macro though. But impossible to get everything done in broodwar I guess and nice to actually see someone prefering to micro the troops already on the field.

I agree with that. IdrA abandoned 8 rax, a factory or two, two starports (I think) and a CC because he couldn't be bothered to lift his buildings. That struck me as quite the waste, although it was the right decision to abandon his main.

After having watched that part of the replay, I'm going to say this: you're an idiot. He nearly beat 8 muta, 5 lurkers, and a dozen lings with ~20 marines and ~5 medics. The zerg didn't push because he couldn't- he had like 2 lurkers and 2 muta left, and Idra had a tank and a group of marines that had just popped. Not to mention the bunker sitting there.

And to say any pro would have pushed right there and then? With what? He kept his minerals pretty freaking low during that fight (he hit 500 near the very end of it), the amount of lings he could have produced off the larvae he had available wouldn't be enough to overwhelm what Idra had.

That being said, the zerg did seem lost about what to do against Idra's turtling. If I were him I would have taken the three empty geysers because he was chronically short on gas the entire game and it would have given him another 30% or so. If he had done that right after clearing Idra's three bases, he might have been able to catch Idra with too few vessels to stop guardians. Even if he hadn't, it might have been enough to just switch from ultra/ling/defiler to guardian/scourge.
