Thx. He's an A+ amateur protoss. I beat him in pgtour before too so perhaps he felt like i was gonna beat him and thus decided to cannon rush so hard both games, hard to say really - perhaps it's just his style, many protoss players are playing that way nowadays.

Hey why did they play mondi against cy instead of you? WTF was that? he got absolutely raped and looked as though he put no effort into the games, suiciding away his first four lurkers charging passed 2 bunkers. Not to bash mondi or anything, but sometimes his zvt is pretty good, other times it looks like he just doesn't give a shit about the game.

Nah its just his style. Hes a fag pvz totally 100%. I predictewd this gay ass reaver build he does but he didnt do it. He cheeses all the time.

Basically, there are times when they are very good and should be used.. but you can't break static with them - it's just impossible. If you swarm and try to attack cannons, he'll just storm inside the swarm or send in some zealots, if you attack cannons straight up he'll just storm and you'll die.

Dropping with them sucks too, they take forever to destroy things compared to lings. They can be awesome as a containing unit or in certain situations, but in a longer game (which I think you implied by saying upgraded hydras) they just get worse and worse and worse..

Tell me how you think ultras did for Squall in the replay posted recently. He had control of the game and then he tried to tech straight to ultras and lost his main. He eventually lost and I feel he wasted a lot of resources on ultras that got outclassed by a well balanced p army.

Well despite being a main and a natural down he still almost won. Do you honestly think that if he made nothing but hydras after losing his main and natural that he would come so close to victory? Anyway ultra ling swarm is faaaaaaaar better than hydras in late game. Hydras are only useful against sair dt (As you'll see I started making them when he switched to sair dt) in late game or carriers when you can camp it out with hydras and defilers and run them dry or against armies with reaver mixes. Hydras are ok in a mix but I wouldn't have been able to attack with them at any point or afford as many expansions/hatcheries or been able to get to hive as fast as i did. There's no way I would've been able to "roll him" by mixing hydras into my army.

The Z had control of the game and lost his main and natural because he spent over 5 minutes doing almost nothing but teching to ultras. It's comparable to a T going straight to BCs. Sure if you get 12 of them it's good, but in the meantime you'll be destroyed by anyone who scouts and builds units as they tech instead of just teching straight to the biggest unit. In your game instead of teching to lair and hive you could mass hydras and lings from your 4 hatcheries and do damage to his frontal buildings at least.

And in late game how is it good to have 12 or more ultras when 1/3 or more of them can't attack till the front ones are dead. It's a waste of money. They are too big to be effective against the smallness of zeals, dts and ranged ability of archons. In a big open field they are great, but rarely is that the case. On the other hand hydras are amazing at getting their shots off. They move quickly into position and shoot fast. They are the perfect range unit to continuously pepper protoss units while the ultras and lings do the rest.

Nobody uses hydra late game for a reason. Midian has his own style of ZvP that's highly effective and doesn't necessarily have to conform to your ideals of what Zerg should be doing.

ETT why does it matter if he plays as well as Midian? You can still have a huge knowledge of the game without being able to actually do it yourself. Anyways, I'm sure he's not as good as Midian.
