at like 20 minutes you realize only 1 bar of the replay progress is passed... you know that x16 is not fast enough. I have no idea why Dunaj had such an amazingly strange desire to win this game. He made it work, amazing use of protoss spells. But really, I don't think oov would have played that game out had it been an OGN finals match. Why in the world did Dunaj want to win that badly. | ||

I had to 8x through the last 1 hour and 40 min. Those huge battles of Zeals, Goons, Temps, and Archons were very cool to watch. I slowed those down to normal speed whenever one occured. Lots of psi storm!! | ||

I think blackmaster could have frustrated Dunaj's attempts if he attacked the arbiter at bottom left. Several times Dunaj had an arbiter and an archon or 2 inside slowly poking at the base. Arbiters were so important to Dunaj's victory, and overall are immensely powerful units, and goons with 3:3:3 kill arbiters quick. Blackmaster had about 5 goons at one point but was afraid to attack the arbiter. He could have easily kept the arbiter out of his base. Without freedom to use arbiters, Dunaj could not have won | ||

First of all, Dunaj deserves a great deal of respect for showing the spirit of a true gamer and fighting to win right until the end, rather than giving up because it was a tedious or slow process  . Blackmaster also deserves some respect for not TOTALLY going afk or abandoning the game. The end result: a fantastic and one-of-a-kind replay.That said, many of Dunaj's tricks were simply stunning. And chances are, he came up with most of them right there, on the spot. That takes real creative genius . I was totally expecting the game to end in a draw, but as Dunaj started stealing units and then using hallucination to kill cannons off one by one, I realized that he could actually win this O_O. And he did .At least Blackmaster didn't totally give the game away: he used some tricks of his own that forced Dunaj to be very meticulous with his unit contrrol and to come up with even more brilliant strategies. Trek's comments apply very well to Blackmaster: he continued making goons and zealots for a long time, whereas Dunaj realized much earlier that the game was headed for a no-mineral situation and consequently he was making almost entirely HTs while Blackmaster was still using zeal/goon. In my opinion, this replay illustrates the most beautiful part of Brood War: the highly creative use of units and strategies to win, played out in realtime. | ||
