Seriously, 2008 was the golden age of TL.net community videos and events: Awesome Broodsports, TL-Attack!, Grudgematches (v GG.net) and of course TSL Why can't we get such great community VODs to watch and re-watch anymore?
TSL 2 was my first. For some reason, I actually thought it was TSL 3, and was assuming the next TSL would be TSL 4. Was kinda perplexed when they first announced TSL 3!
I remember thinking of Nony vs Idra as being the finals, I don't believe I even watched the actual finals, haha. Still remember moments where Idra was transferring SCVs and Nony attacked in as the SCVs were moving, created a buffer, and caused Idra to hold off the attack relatively easy when it looked like Nony was going to steamroll him.
I remembered having NO idea who 90% of the players were, RANDOMLY liquibetting, and going nearly 80%+ with my random guesses, and being rank like 2 or 3 liquibet. Was so close! Only had followed the foreign BW scene at that point.
But my favorite TSL moment was from 2. It was Nony breaking into IdrA's ramp in game five of their Ro8 series. Absolutely beautiful!
The thing I love about TSLs are that I care about basically every player in the brackets. And even when there are matches where I don't know the participants, the artwork and casters and backstories make me care about it regardless.
I love my OSLs and MSLs, but TSLs are major events in my year.
Well. I was around when TSL1 was up, but I was here to go ohlolprosc, more than actually follow it. I watched tsl2 and saw the ridiculous idracancel ensue :DD
