God TSL 1 was so awesome. I clearly remember staying up late at night while I had a ton of homework for high school just to watch every TSL match XD. Potato chips, soda, and cup noodles all in hand ready to be consumed. Good times T_T

But really, I watched through a lot of the TSL2 games and am seriously looking forward to this one. Tyler fighting.

Ah, TSL1 was technically my first, but I barely followed it. I did watch the finals, however, and greatly enjoyed the comeback victory from the Canadian hero!

TSL2 I followed closely.

OG baby, I remember when NonY made a stir, especially the Pols, when he had to face Draco. It was about gladly taking Draco's fans after he crushes him. Unfortunately, NonY lost, and Poland rejoiced. TSL1.

I remember watching a few TSL1 streams with JF when I wasn't really into the pro SC scene, then I followed TSL2 from start to finish, holding my breath during all the JF and NonY games. And now I'm hoping for some epic games in the TSL3!

I bought SC in december 2007 after which I started watching the korean proscene. I wasn't part of TL during TSL1 and I didn't really know how big TL or foreign sc was. I still managed to catch the VODs by being subscribed to nevake though. I don't remember if I actually watched them while it was going on, but I certainly missed all the amazing hype that I got to expirience during TSL2.

TSL1!

Oh the nostalgia!

TSL2 was fantastic too of course, watching the final with all the TL poms at flicky's place in Southern England is one of my favourite 'online' memories.

Razer TSL. I remember I was going to school the day after the finals. It was fairly late already and Draco was up 2-0 and quite a bit ahead in the third game. I decided to go to sleep as I hate getting less than enough sleep, expecting to perform the formality of making sure JF lost 0-3 in the morning. It turned out he made reavers and won 3-2. Good times.

TSL1, great memories. We're really spoiled nowadays because there are tourneys left and right, at that time it was like oasis in desert. But I'm sure TSL3 will bring that something extra like it always did, can't wait for it

JF > Draco 3-2 epic comeback, of course.

Every TSL is cool but nothing can honestly match the *first* one. The concept was new. The scale of the tournament was new. Everything was new.

TSL 2, as I read the battle reports and posts about Tyler beating Idra and eventually winning.

TSL1 of course.

But I followed TSL2 more closely.

- The organization was just perfect : Hot_Bid + R1CH > all
- The atmosphere and hype were incredible : Mondragon's comeback, Idra's supposed invincibility, people we didn't expect did amazing in the ladder qualifs, Kolll confirming or not his WCG success, abusers (rofl at Such An Abuseful Day), drama aka cancel CC, Nony's manners in the finals, etc.
- The schedule was awesome, I was in France at this time, and I had pizza + beer + TSL for dinner at every playoffs game.
- Huge prizepool back then, and still the biggest for a foreign tournament.

TSL1. No TSL moment will ever be as great as the first broadcast, when the probe intro was played for the first time. Noone really knew what quality to expect from TL and the quality of that intro just blew me away.

The epic TSL 2 with the idraliska cancel.

Did not know what the hype was the first time the tournament was run. I was like o.O nice promo... what are you all rabidly cheering about.

Tsl 1 was amazing. Good I dont know why, but for some reason TSLs are more important to me that every other tournament. TSLX>WCG>GSL>everything else. Iam wondering where the NASL will end up in this ranking.

o man TSL1. So many god memories. I was somewhat new to starcraft. The first tourney i really watched was Ascension so this is the first complete tourney i really followed. The finals with JF and Draco was so epic.

Also when mondragon lost to Drevian i pretty much wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. The first time i cared enough about an SC player to get pissed when they lost.

TSL 1 was actually the first BW tournament that I really watched and it sort of threw me into following OSL/MSL/Proleague etc...

A friend told me to watch the finals cause JF is such a baller and then I proceeded to watch the rest of the tournament and get hooked on BW as a spectator...

TSL2 was right about when I started watching and learning a lot about the Korean scene. I remember I always went on TL and then one day I was redirected to some video. Little did I know that was the start of the biggest foreigner tournament ever...
I'm pretty surprised TSL2 wasn't the 1st for more people, it was the biggest tournament outside of Korea, everyone knew about it I thought.

TSL 2 for me. I was so happy when Nony won it, since Nony was my favorite foreign player.
I saw some VODs for TSL1, and they were really exciting, it's unfortunate that I didn't see it when it originally took place. ^^;

Razer TSL.

Does anyone remember the poll for Mondi vs Drieven? It was like 990 votes for mondi and 10 for bbqtoss. It was the tournament for underdogs yo. Come backs left and right.

I watched all the vods of TSL1 when I first found TL. I was here to watch TSL2 live. I was at a breakfast party when NonY took down Idra, and had to silently scream with my best friend to avoid disturbing the other people there.

about the time of TSL 2 i started watching starcraft and for me as a noob at this time it was the first time somebody i actually could understand commentated it giving me much insight on sc and how it is diverent to wc3 ( which i watch for some years already) and even making me looking more forwawrd to sc2 and this turned out to be amazing. it follows that tsl3 will be amazing tooo and im really looking forward if the europeans can beat the top korean players. ok we know jinro can and he'll gone to win the whole tournament but apart from it there are some really good players but i don't think many stand a chance against the korean pros

well, half-way through anyways

Seriously, 2008 was the golden age of TL.net community videos and events:
Awesome Broodsports, TL-Attack!, Grudgematches (v GG.net) and of course TSL
Why can't we get such great community VODs to watch and re-watch anymore?

TSL 2 was my first. For some reason, I actually thought it was TSL 3, and was assuming the next TSL would be TSL 4. Was kinda perplexed when they first announced TSL 3!

I remember thinking of Nony vs Idra as being the finals, I don't believe I even watched the actual finals, haha. Still remember moments where Idra was transferring SCVs and Nony attacked in as the SCVs were moving, created a buffer, and caused Idra to hold off the attack relatively easy when it looked like Nony was going to steamroll him.

I remembered having NO idea who 90% of the players were, RANDOMLY liquibetting, and going nearly 80%+ with my random guesses, and being rank like 2 or 3 liquibet. Was so close! Only had followed the foreign BW scene at that point.

TSL 1.

But my favorite TSL moment was from 2. It was Nony breaking into IdrA's ramp in game five of their Ro8 series. Absolutely beautiful!

The thing I love about TSLs are that I care about basically every player in the brackets. And even when there are matches where I don't know the participants, the artwork and casters and backstories make me care about it regardless.

I love my OSLs and MSLs, but TSLs are major events in my year.
If it were not so, I would have told you.

TSL1. My heart sank when Mondragon lost to the BBQ Toss (I have nothing against Dreiven, it's just that Mondragon has always been my favorite player outside Korea), but his run in TSL2 totally made up for it. Can't wait for number 3.

TSL3. I didn't know what the fuck StarCraft was before SC2 came out. Never played RTS before SC2. Only reason I even bought the game was because it was made by Blizzard and apparently it was really good.

Well yeah, I've been hooked ever since I lost 20 games straight in bronze league.

TSL1 was one of the best moments of starcraft.

I remember having chills up and down the spine every time i saw the intro.

Dreiven vs Mondragon was probably one of the most fun to watch games of broodwar+ Show Spoiler +
(not only because of the upset. The game itself was entertaining).

And 3 protoss in the semi-final we dont usually see in any korean tournment.

Well I watched the TSL2 live, but long before that I watched all the vods of TSL1 so I'd say that TSL1 was my first

Super excited for TSL 3. Hate that I have to wait 1 day 8 hours 25 minutes and 31 seconds.
If all you're offering is Dos Equis, I will stay thirsty thank you very much.

Proud and lucky viewer of TSL1, which was the greatest thing to ever happen to foreign BW.
The mysterious announcement with the countdown and all had everyone wet their pants from excitement.
That tourney had everything : professional organisation, awesome casters, stellar play, drama, upsets, you name it... And the finals... OMG THE FINALS!!! That comeback was soooo insane.

TSL2 was really good too, but somehow had me less excited than TSL1 (except for Tyler winning, and the epic CC cancel).

And I have to admit that I am even more pumped for TSL 3 than the previous ones.
The players roster is the sickest ever, the casters are great, the maps pool is good, and it is even broadcasted in Korea.
What more could you ask?

You could ask a Zerg win, ok... Or Huk winning

PvP was so much more fun then. TSL1 was my first - only thanks to the vods/torrent.

I was just a wee little lurker back then, but dear God was I ever excited for the TSL. I remember the hype picture and countdown, the rap lyrics, the mysterious mods. And the games were just downright amazing, that final had everything the OSLs had. Hype, backup, casters, excitement everything was just great.

Now look at how far TL has come: Korean progamers competing on even terms with the best the foreign scene can muster. Who could have imagined this back when all we had was a hype poster and cryptic moderator posts.

I'm kinda excited is what I'm trying to say, i guess.

I feel the exact opposite. This poll is fantastic, showing just how much Team Liquid and the SC scene in general has grown in the last few years.

An elating feeling.

While this (TSL 3) will be the first TSL that I will be following up from as early into it as I am, I did start with TSL 2. I might also add that during the TSL 2 (I only saw the last week of it), I convinced my friend who had never played Starcraft in his life, to watch it with me and while he didn't understand much and I did have to explain it, He went out and bought the game because he loved it so much. I wonder who I could get interested in Starcraft this time.

I was here for TSL 1, but I didn't really get how cool it is and watched Korean Starcraft instead. Fortunately, for TSL 2 I had become a wiser man and watched all of it.

I remember the sick hype and scavenger hunts that presaged the original TSL, as well as watching constant updates of the iCCup ladder ranking in the qualification stage. I'm pretty sure Brat_OK got a ton more publicity after a sick run through the TSL. Iefnaij also impressed me so much with his crisp reaver control.

Holy shit, I didn't expect the poll to be this one sided.

I thought TSL1 and TSL3 would both be dominating. =/

25k people who didn't want everyone to know that this is their first TSL. :p

I honestly would've thought the poll to be even more lopsided. The growth of the scene since SC2 has just been phenomenal, and TL has grown alongside.

Aw man, TSL1, I remember screaming at my monitor rooting for Draco. TSL2, the Ret vs Sen set still puts me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to get some more of the TSL3.

The Dew is chillin', the snacks a'plenty, and my arms are primed for some Day9 brand Fist Pumping.

Agreed! It's not all nuubs! I think those of us who were huge SC1 / BW days in 1997-2000 have had a reason to come back and check out SC2. I knew SC became a competitive esport in Korea, but didn't realize just how big the scene was. Glad to see TL growing by leaps and bounds!

I'm not playing season 5. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
