Kind of a bummer that ret dropped out, but good for Horror! From what I've seen he hasn't been doing that exceptional lately, so I hope he does well. And yeah, there's no doubt in my mind that IdrA is the favorite to win. He's the best foreigner ever, in my opinion - the foreign bonjwa. But with Dinot, White-Ra, Brat, and JF still on the board, I can see him possibly losing. I suppose it's not entirely likely in a BO5, but who knows what sort of cheesy unorthodox play will get thrown at him. This RO8, and the two remaining RO16 games are going to be absolutely godly. We're gonna have commentated stream/vods for the RO8, right?

Spoiler warining Valor + Show Spoiler + For me its not anymore like in the beginning when he went to Korea and in this situation where you need to focus hard in your APM, mechanics, executing perfectly the basic builds to catch up with your Korean teammates in the groundings first and in this time you are more vulnerable to something that gets you out of your rhythm. Nowadays Idras looks like he has all this stuff behind him and got enough of his head free to scout and adapt to almost everything Foreigners can throw at him. He literally crushed Fenix in the Valor tournament 4:0 with massive multitasking and harassing without suffering of his macro. I think in this stage its very unlikely that someone can stop him in the foreign scene except ret To the question if he should play in foreign tournaments I am somehow divided. On one hand he clearly got better conditions than other foreigners. On the other hand it seems unfair to punish him for the fact that he decided to successfully invest more in his way with Starcraft while others got other perspectives to provide their lifes. So I dont got a opinion about this because either way there is no optimal solution for me. But what I dont think is too great is when there is only one big prizemoney for the first place. I heard this in ESL.. So correct me if I am wrong. Because others should also have a chance to get a smaller piece of the cake even if Idra is dominating. So something like 1. 700, 2. 200 3. 100 serves the purporse much better imo and still makes the first place much more attractive. Really dont understand why you made it 1020 $ just for the first place.

And he's not that dominant, even excluding the Chinese. He doesn't roll over foreigners like the other Koreans. And after watching JF's replays, I think JF will beat him. He seems back in form. Yep, that's what I meant, thanks for the correction n_n I completely agree about the Chinese, but as you see in this tournament, it's not an issue. I think JF vs IdrA would be a great MU, although I would have to say IdrA's TvP is far from being his best whereas JF's PvT is (imo) his strongest.

EDIT: and let me take this opportunity to say that Idra's TvZ is fucking art. The first game against Dimaga was fantastic, even though he lost.... the second game was just a classic example of a game of his type of style (mass tech)... and the third game was just flawlessly executed. I think we're beginning to see the beginnings of Idra gaining the confidence to have a style. In TvP I think we saw a little of it in the series vs Fenix, where he switched from standard macro play to a beautiful harass game right out of Fantasy's playbook. In TvZ, his style seems to be mass tech (2 starports, yet lots of early tanks, dropship play) with a relatively (and usually dangerously) small group of MnM that's just big enough to kill mass lings.

Edit: Wanted to thanks everybody involved for setting this up. I mean as a follower of such tournaments you most likely talk about some things where you got twisted thoughts or some deeply discussion is possible. But its not like you dont appreciate the work or something.

JF disagrees: + Show Spoiler + Your next opponent will be RoX.BRAT_OK. His play is quite impressive, however I am feeling anything but confident. I've been practicing PvP and PvZ's all seasons, not even touching PvT. Although, JF's PvT is still really sick and has really smart decision making and good macro, he will give Idra some trouble, but not going be too much trouble, judging by how bad Idra rolled Ra/Fenix. How is being your 2nd best mu far from being his best :/? Also I dont expect JF to get through Bratok let alone Idra, those 2 were always closely matched, and both their bo5s/bo7s couldve gone different ways if not for map positions. But Bratok is more active right now which is all he needs.
