Interesting series, NonY could have played better at some critical moments specially in the last game, while F91 showed consistent performance that allows him to seize NonY's slumps.

Hmm... how come the replays aren't being released anymore? I thought it was just a special case because of Idra, but how come even these replays won't be released? It really decreases the educational value of these events. =/ Luckily Sean's commentary partially makes up for it.

Personally I find F91s games far more entertaining and at a bit higher level than I've seen in other Liquidbition. I think best choice to take F91 out would be a zerg but that's really going to be a snorefest and that's not really the point of Liquidbition. Maybe in the next Liquidbition (who knows when) they could bring back Idra given his recent performance. Now that'd definitely generate some hype.

With Regards to Replays

The reason we don't release replays is pretty simple. When we think up a magically awesome project like TSL and shop around for sponsors we need to be able to show said sponsor stats - specifically vod stats. The whole motivation for a sponsor is that they know the viewer will see their logo/ad and this will probably expand (we aren't going to 20 minute gom ads with DRM....yet LOL). To keep that door open we need to have backing "the last 10 episodes of liquibition have had X number of views". If we release reps then obviously vod views go down, stream views go down, product looks less popular (as has less value because not as many people watching the vod). Then prizes go down and we have to cut stuff.

Don't give me lip about blah blah replays still show view i know they do. Sponsors want to see where they can have a 10 second ad between a game or where there logo will be placed during a broadcast.

Can you release the replay like 2-3 weeks after the games happen ?

That would be very much appreciated. I'm sure a lot of zergs want to try to catch on to F91's aggressive style, and it's much easier to see whats happening with replays than VODs.

Why not have some sort of download counter that shows how many times the reps were downloaded? It gives another stat you could sell to the sponsors..

Stream/VODs can have a sponsor overlay like we had during Razer TSL. Replays can't. So it's irrelevant for a sponsor.

Yeah but what about what D10 mentioned, 2-3 weeks after the VODs are released everyone would have already seen them and then it wouldn't matter so much.

I know nony didn't even touch F91's economy in game 6 but I really thought he was just gonna roll over F91 with his army, or that F91 would just funnel his army into storms and scarabs (Looking at you JD!). But man, his muta switch and his muta snipes were fucking art. Zerg Pride!

I don't think so. Why would you want to wait 2-3 weeks? Then when you actually DO see it you won't really be up to date with everyone else because everyone would have already discussed it in a live thread. Also there is no commentary on the replays when you download them. Half the fun of watching liquibition is sitting in IRC with everyone else, knowing that what you are watching now is happening as you discuss it IMO.

A worthless stat, though, as they have no advertising in the place you download it :/

Maybe you can be like Pringles or all the wc3 tourneys and add banners for sponsors in maps :3 Pity there are no loading screens in SC either...

Otherwise just having adverts on the rep download page, but that would be kinda lame :/

Why not put the sponor's logo on the map itself?

That way you would have even more hits, because you'd satisfy the entire audience. People could watch live, download vods and / or download replays, if they dislike watching vods or couldn't watch the games live due to a slow internet connection etc.

I realise that the fact the logo won't be visible at all times might be a problem, but it could be done in such a way that the logo would be visible on the mini map and therefore all the time.
