I've heard from a few places that keep putting Idra's contract in the ballpark of 50k to 70k, I've got no clue if that's total compensation or just pay, but it stands to reason Huk's is probably worth more. EG dropped a substantial amount of money for the team house in AZ and obviously have been attempting to setup something in Korea for a while. Puma was just 1 piece.

Idra and HuK teaming up is something HUGE, Idra going back to Korea is even bigger! I'm so glad this happened. IMO the hype was worth it.

I guess HuK got the taste of money after his DreamHack and Homestory Cup win and now wants more.

His PvP might suffer but i would imagine he is still on good terms with MC and inca if he needs to practice PvP Whoa whoa, Puma better than Top/Supernova/TheStC/Nada? The kid won one competition. Let's try not overhype him.

Good luck in EG, HuK! You are an inspiration for every player in the world, regardless of nationality and/or in-game race.

Absolutely nothing good comes out of this for TL. They could have just made this post and been done with it. That wouldn't feed their egos tho.

I'm sure there is a lot of important factors for huk other then just dollar bills alone that lead to this decision. Good luck huk, the huk vs. idra story lines were always great, even if you are both part of the 'darkside' hopefully that rivalry and the enjoyment that came out of it can still continue. thats still all money...

When a talented player's contract runs out, there's always a bidding war. 99% of the time they go to the team who's willing to pay them the most. Everyone involved understands a business and the fact that it's nothing personal. In fact, when your favorite team loses a star player, people are angry at the team for not paying them what they're worth, not the player. If anything, people should be happy that esports has grown up enough that something like this can even happen. The fact that EG's willing to pay HuK enough money to make him not resign with Liquid means it's probably pretty significant, and I'm all for any SC2 player getting that kind of a significant salary. It doesn't matter what team they're on. Way to go HuK for making a good decision as far as your own life is concerned. Fanboy backlash or not, financial security is damn important. Way to go EG for pushing esports forward. The more you're willing to pay players, the more other teams will have to start paying their own players in order to keep them around. It's a good thing for everyone in the scene. Absolutely it's great that EG has the resources now to make such a play. But like in most sports, when the homegrown hero leaves, it still causes a big sting.

it wouldn't be fun if team dynamics didn't change.. It's nice to see the first foreign house in Korea and more foreigners versus koreans!
