After a fierce three days of voting on the 9 excellent entries in the semifinals, the finalists for the map contest have been chosen.
Due to my error on not clarifying the "end vote" time of midnight as on U.S. PST, and also because the votes for the top maps were so close, we will be accepting 4 maps as finalists to be played in the staff tourney.

Congratulations to the finalists, and a heartfelt thanks to everyone who submitted maps for this excellent competition, even the designers who were disqualified for technical reasons.
The TL.net staff all look forward to playing these maps in a tournament setting and we will be posting results and replays (only the worthy ones :-P) for your viewing pleasure.
EDIT: Map Designers PLEASE PM me download links to melee AND OBS versions of your maps. Also please make modifications ASAP if there are problems with your maps, as we want to play on the most polished product possible.

It was a VERY good decision to accept four maps. I was really nervous at school today, since I woke up and discovered that the voting was not over, and I was in third. I'm sure Travin approves of this news too, lol.

Infinity didn't win. The TL.net staff are deciding the winner out of the top 4.

Technetium and Bhekar Ro Revival are my favourites among the finalists. Both when it comes to gameplay and looks.

I'm looking forward to seeing demos on these maps. 
It just annoys me though that blizzard didn't make a map visible option, since we'd see action on so many more new maps, plus it would help with the development of map-specific strategies.
That something I like most about this game, when you sidestep the prefab builds and play a beutifully set up map-specific gameplan.
Recently we've been seeing much of that on requiem for instance.

I really dont understand how u make a map. Do u have to download a program? Or are these l337 @ pc and hacks or something

I don't know if anybody noticed this yet, or if I'm playing an outdated version, but I was playing on Technetium just now and I noticed there doesn't seem to be a cap on Zerg upgrades. I was 3/3 and then I noticed I could upgrade to 4/4 etc. :O
Should be fixed, if it isn't already, although I'm sure no one on TL would abuse it.
