I like the rules since we (the guests) don't have to deal with total morons who just piss you off.
And about the post count. I think it is like Stats on Battle.Net, once you start you want a high number, and then after a while you just don't care anymore.

Well, a little spoiler (at least as far as I understood the rules).
There have been a lot of new people lately who, like the people on Netwars.pl which has been mentioned earlier, think they have some constitutional right to post anything they want here and they cannot get banned "just like that". I think everyone belonging to the "veteran" group knows the rules of conduct on this forum. But, this forum is becoming more and more popular and new people are coming here every day. They don't know the rules, so they think that it's another forum where they'll be allowed to troll and insult and provoke and get away without any penalty (or start a "poor me got banned for doing nothing wrong" campaign, which is a favorite way to get attention).
I still believe that the best forum rule is using common sense. Unfortunately, that word has a different meaning for some people. Such rulesets are used to unify the meaning of this term :>

that was all very well put and well written. one of the few long posts anywhere ever that i've actually read through and thoroughly enjoyed. nicely done, mensrea and whoever else came up with it.

I liked the rules, mainly I think that it is important that people understand that this site is not like other forums.
But frankly I don't really like the search function. Everytime I click a topic in it, and then try to hit the back button to get back to my search results it never goes back to them, I get like an error page. Then I have to search again to look at the results and choose another that might fit the bill.
Anyhow, I think people should use it, but its not "better than google"
Either that or I'm just too stupid to hit like a "back to results" link on the topic.
