...in Dec last year "M" bribed a progamer "J".
"J" lost matches on purpose in 11 Dec OSL and 31 Dec MSL and took 3 Million Wons for each...

My heart stopped. I thought it was Jaedong. And then I realized Jaedong didn't play on December 11th in the OSL, and he won on the 31st of December against Stats in the MSL. That day, Hwasin, Stats, Light, and BeSt lost.

Hwasin did lose on the 11th of December in the OSL to YarnC, and he did lose on December 31st to Kal.

...Hwasin :S

they refer to the players by their last name, so Jaedong would have been Mr. L (Lee Jae Dong). In this case, Mr. J refers to Jin (Hwasin is Jin Yung Soo)

I haven't followed starcraft in like.. forever.
Work and life have pretty much consumed me for the past 2~3 years but..

I find it interesting that news of this scandal is not just reported through internet news sites, but through mainstream newspapers as well. (I just found out about this scandal this morning reading the newspaper before going to work :/ )

Oh, and one other thing: I admittedly didn't read through all the posts, so this might have been mentioned somewhere along the line, but there seems to be some confusion with the reported ages. While we generally follow the "Korean Age", written media tend to report ages as you would in the US (that is - based on birthdays).

Ma Jae Yoon DIDNT DO IT.
The Fucking MAESTRO of Zerg didnt do shit.
Stop this nonsense crap.
ITS OBVIOUS, Progamers have nothing to do with all this stupidity. Progamers train more than 10 hours a day everyday for weeks after weeks after weeks and You want me to believe that one or two or three of them agreed to lose on "purpose" after days of nonstop training. How many of u can believe such thing?
This has nothing to do with progamers specifically, BUT with Coaching Staff and such cuz those are the ones who could agreed to such shit and have no regrets, after all they Do Not have to go through ridiculous training sessions, backstage stuff, and shit like that before a televised match.
I can not imagine this being possible. IM ON PROGAMERS side. If they say they r innocent I will TOTALLY believe it.
Those fuckers who r really involve in this lame situation were ask for names, so they did it, they started giving out names, BUT as in every scandal similar to this one, they gave names randomly, they lied about it, Of Course they did, they wanna keep this going in the near future. They will not give the real names and lose this fucktard business. There's a Mr. Ma involved in this thing and everyone is relating him to Savior, WTF ppl, that Mr. Ma could be anybody. I Hope I would know the truth about this, unfortunately no one does. And as in almost every single thing that happens in this world, when something gets big and turns out to be an OMFG Moment in history the truth always evolves behind the story we are being told. Obviously we get to know only what they want us to know, and most the time the result is a big, twisted, well worked fixed lie, I know that by a fact...I live in America.

yup yup its all blizzards scheme to kill sc1 so sc1 can't bash on sc2 for not taking as much skill, so sc2 can become successful instead of dieing out, like brawl and melee. this is all made up no way savior could be involved with wanted criminals.

- Hite Sparkyz's coach is in quite a bit of trouble? I'm not 100% certain why though, so I'll just leave it at that instead of guessing.
- A lot of players settled with KeSPA before going to court, so what was revealed to the public is probably a minor part of what actually went on
- Justin's dad suing the Sparkyz coach? lol

Also, Kangmin is quite baller, recognizing suspicious games in his commentary through the games

I can... and do. I can't tell if you're trolling, or merely in denial.

Savior has been the pinnacle of skill in the world of starcraft, but that doesn't automatically make him incapable of making stupid decisions like getting involved in this business. Face it, the progamers that become our heroes in the starcraft scene ascend to that status not because of their moral character, but because of their sweet starcraft skills. For all the hate and disappointment directed at Ma Jae Yoon in this thread, he can still kick the ass out of just about anyone who's posted in this thread in a starcraft match anyway- especially since I don't think he'll be throwing any more games again.

the best of the best (JD, flash, bisu, stork) probably aren't involved, because it would be very suspicious for them to lose matches to no-names.

matches between average players or maybe a little above average are less suspicious if they are rigged, so thats probably why most of the named players are average/above average and not at the top or bottom.

it also occurred to me that many more players than the ones listed knew about the match-fixing but didn't say anything about it. i'm guessing that not everyone who was asked to throw a game away for money said yes to it. And also players who weren't involved might have overheard info inside their practice houses. of course, nobody wants to be the snitch.

how do those who knew but weren't involved feel about this? especially the players, who knew that certain games were not legitimate and were not testaments of the players' actual skills (ESPECIALLY their own games, when they find out that they didn't actually beat the other player, but the other player actually let him win).
