In his first post, he talks about scum hunting. In his next post, he is explicit that his scum-read on me should be so obvious that is not even worth discussion. That does not sound town to me. Had to step out by the time you posted the first instance of this, then caught up. Hapa do you notice that the comment on ShoCkeyy is a reply to a very specific question by rayn regarding my post pointing out that I think non town have started playing? On October 30 2020 07:40 yamato77 wrote: Trusting Dirk is difficult for me. The aware miller-ish aspect adds a layer of strangeness to what is already quite a convoluted role. If anything his post seems to be focused mainly on keeping himself alive for a vague promise of maybe helping town in 5 cycles, which is a long time. This sounds more like an actual survivor claim than any "actually town but may appear 3p" like he said. I don't think he's telling the 100% truth. Then again, the precedent in this very game is to hide one's own power level, so to speak, so I don't exactly think that means he's mafia. Another great candidate to check with the Library.
I don't think we should be asking about what corruption will do when we have so many claims to evaluate. Perhaps if it increases to 2 we could see what would happen at 3 but right now at 1 there's not much point if I read the OP correctly.
Rayn's return to the thread has been less than inspiring. Among a litany of list posts his seems mostly aimed at staying stuck in his reads he made hours ago and dismissing anything that has happened since. That said he is no stranger to confirmation bias so it's not particularly alignment indicative for him to not have developed further.
What's hilarious about this is that I actually find myself agreeing with him about the corruption level now that I think about it. I might choose to go myself and gain some information. I don't think I'm going to take any action involving my role as it exists now. That may change later on, because I don't know much about my role!
I didn't realize a different mini actually had multiple scum teams, but the OP reads as if there's only one (especially given the stated 1 KP) so until I have reason to believe otherwise I am going to play under that assumption. I don't see much merit in speculating about the two scum team theory.
I already stated why I take Hapa's claim at face value and dismissing that read because it looks like buddying is absurd. If I am indeed mafia, why would I buddy with a competing alignment? If we were both mafia, why would we need to "buddy up"? Rayn's reasoning here is obviously flawed, and as he himself admitted he has too many scumreads for them all to co-exist.
Shockey's list post was particularly awful. It is early sure but that was a series of thin one-liners that displayed a lack of critical thought about the game, especially as it pertains to me. I have not refused to cooperate with anyone. I have stated how I wanted to play the game and I have done so. Rayn's meta-defense of my scumread of Shockey for his posting leaves me less than enthused if this is what I should expect from a player who thinks they are analytical. Rayn's seeming certainty of Shockey's alignment is unsettling, to say the least. I have to assume knowledge outside of the thread, and the withholding of that knowledge is inherently anti-town in my opinion.
There are a lot of players in this game I don't have much of an opinion on because of their sparse, conversational and interaction based posting. Grack seems to be solely reactive. Onegu, likewise, seems to be mostly reactive outside of his claim. Ticktock's posting appeared rather bland and inoffensive, but was more substantive in comparison.
One person I absolutely do not care for is Acro. He is hyper-focused on Hapa's claim to a fault. His comments on anything outside of that since the early parts of the game are sparse. He wrote a whole bunch of nothing about my spat with Rayn and has followed up on literally nothing except his evaluation of a single 3p claim. This fixation is something that appears genuine, but could easily come from mafia. I do not trust him.
I know you’re a writer but that’s a lot of words. Sorry my one liners wasn’t enough for you.

Was just poking to see.
"Each night, a player, instead of performing any action they may have, may visit the database and target another player. "
So a player visiting may have an action, wanted to see if you're also a special role.

The TL Mafia Database
The TL Mafia Database is a wealth of information, and has assisted players with their quest for victory in many games. Sadly, it is in a sorry state of disrepair. Weakening security protocols and new technology has enabled greater access, but more serious danger of Aperture Science infiltration. Without proper care, the database will destabilize with disastrous results.
Each night, a player, instead of performing any action they may have, may visit the database and target another player. You will recieve a clue about that player's role or the setup at large. You can choose to learn whether your target has a role that has been in a previous aperture game before, If your target has activated some part of their role, what modifiers, if any, are currently affecting your target, or what effect the next stage of corruption level will cause.
Because your connection to the database is unencrypted, Aperture Science will learn who you have targeted, but not the information you obtain. Other factions may be able to use the database in their own ways.
If no players visit the Database, it will continue to destabilize, causing the Corruption Counter to increase by 1. In addition, if too many people (half a majority of players alive - for example, 4 players with 12 players alive) visit the database, the corruption counter will increase by 1. At corruption levels of 1, 3, and 5, a special effect will occur that will modify the game in some way.
This just seems to back that up. I also noted that Dirk's thinking about how many people to send and attitude about corruption increasing was pretty inconsistent, though I don't feel like filter diving to back that up atm. So I have this sense that he is either playing a bit dumb about the mechanic or is putting out seeds of chaos about it.
So we're on the same page about dirk and his ask for "3" people to enter + protection?

So we're on the same page about dirk and his ask for "3" people to enter + protection? I think so, but it is moreso that I'm having problems understanding his train of thinking regarding how many to send. Like didn't he talk about sending everybody at one point? Which to me kinda makes sense, kus it would only add one corruption and possible give a bunch of info. Then later say "only sending 1" is the best way to get info? Which just makes no sense to me, besides being able to confirm that yes they did go... but why wouldn't scum or whoever just go anyways to be like "see I did as told" Honestly though, I just dont think I get the whole mechanic. Which is why I was wanting to avoid corruption and spend actions checking what it did for now. So my big issue is that we got pushed forward into further unknown territory by dirk's actions.
I disliked the fact that he waited till almost last minute to bring it up instead of talking about it earlier. I get it I guess, but this also means I should just bring up my role and say fuck it.
I’ve got insurance to sell baby.
