The point being that it cuts maybe 20% of the posts out of the game, and also gives everyone 24 hour breaks that are really nice to have.
Also, rayn is banned, so that's another 20%

I'm not arguing it btw, I don't particularly care, I'm fine with a posting restriction. Only reason I bring it up is Ver asked for input and I feel silent nights is a really good mechanic to reduce the strain of posting.
Also the 24 hours off is a good time to either just fuck off and do something other than mafia, or to read whatever you may not have been able to keep up with during the day.

another twist you might try is imposing the post restriction on D1 starting from zero at one of 12 or 24 hrs(12 would be enough IMO, but prolly 24 is better as its a global game). Normally all posts in the start of D1 are a bit empty headed but someone has to post something. making townies tradeoff between posting in the random bullshit part of the day to get it going and wasting posts they could use later to get something productive done/lynched, and conversely allowing scum to hide there early D1 by burning all/many of theirs may have unintended consequences on play styles.
letting the game >start< naturally, but then not get bogged down in long meanderings might be whats being looked for.
D2 and onwards the restriction is for the whole days posts.
Also that feels about right as I think extra posts are naturally made and are useful D1.
Dunno how that would pan out.
Best plan I know to limit spam yet still play mafia is to have people that neither want to post spam nor read it.
