I'd like to request a 1 game ban for ObviousOne. He didn't try at all and put his team in a bad spot. Here is his filter. He had like 3 posts in total and his response to being RNG'd was essentially to AFK. I could see this being downgraded to a warning if people find that more acceptable. edit: From fantasy football mini.

I wouldnt say to retroactively ban anyone, those games are closed. This one is still under discussion. Failure to ban for something that SHOULD be banned for is not an excuse to let it slide the next time. Is that not the point of issuing bans? To improve behavior that we do not wish to tolerate in the future?

Actually I think I argued someone should be banned for that before. And talked to GMarsh about it. I'm not sure it's such a good idea anymore, except for when you do something like BH does, which is make clear he has arbitrary limits of how hard you must try. Edit: Like, isn't that what warnings are here for? If he does it again then it's possibly more serious etc.

I'd rather argue towards the strongest "appropriate" response and let GM and/or the host determine how severe a punishment, if any, needs to be administered.

Well he didn't actually break any rules, and banning him would set a wrong precedent in future situations where people want to ban for "didn't try hard enough", so I'm going to go with a warning. What he did is kind of shitty though, so blergh. Approved other warning.

Kelsier broke a rule and people want him warned. Logic.

OO broke 3 rules (one of which is minor in my books). First, he voted for himself + Show Spoiler + Voting rules: 4. You may not vote for yourself, for anyone dead or for anyone outside the game. You may ##Vote: No Lynch. Activity: You must be active as subjectively determined by the hosts. There is a one post and one vote per day absolute minimum; however, effort put into posting will be taken into account. If you are deemed to not be active, you will be modkilled and banned. Players may be replaced at host discretion. This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing. I take this exceptionally seriously. You risk a modkill and a ban for not making a concerted effort to try and win the game for your team. Regarding only requesting a Warning for Kelsier, who broke two rules (activity and failure to vote), I have similar feelings to Hapa. He had 16 pages of filter and was exceptionally active and tryhard until the last day phase when he went MIA; if anyone had a right to "throw" for mafia, it was him. Second, he went MIA from Yamato's game off-site around the same time so I suspect there may be IRL issues that came up. Third, he's a newer player here who put for exceptional effort in his first game; I don't feel it's right to punish someone for "forgetting about the game" or "getting distracted by IRL" or whatever when they've shown a pattern throughout the game that their intention is not to do so. So yes, it's subjective in many regards. Patterns for play which is good for the community should be promoted and patterns which are bad for the community should be shunned. Thus why I gaged the ban requests where I did.

Wasn't geript one of these people going nuts in the previous banthread that some people were not equally treated? Hmm. Or was that only rayn.
