HaruH The_Templar Glowingbear For hosting a pretty sloppy game of mafia, It was unbalanced, a day was shortened for no reason, Inappropriate host posts, Deadlines missed entirely, roles and mechanics in OP unclear etc. Testomonials: On September 28 2014 06:44 Promethelax wrote: Also what the fuck is this hosting? I know that there was not a unanimous vote to change deadlines, I did not vote for it. The hosts for this game should be ashamed of themselves. On September 28 2014 06:52 Promethelax wrote: I wanted good hosting without unilateral host decisions affecting game play. This is the worst hosting I've ever seen on TL. It took three days to get a response to a PM none of the roles or role interactions are clear in the OP. The vote counts and thread interaction from Templar are intrusive and against the spirit of the game. Instead of making the game as simple as possible for the players to play without integer venting the hosts have intervened at every stage either for the pure joy of fuckery or to cover their own incompetence. On September 29 2014 22:27 Promethelax wrote: I have played ~25 games on tl, ~25 on EM AND ~5 on MS and one on omgus. This was the most poorly hosted. I would also like to request a 3 game ban of the balance team. Either they did not read the setup or failed to comprehend how truly imbalanced it was. Both offenses are clearly playing against their win condition and should be dealt with severely.

I'm not sure if DP is serious or not but the hosts should see how the other people host games, it really helps to see how you deal with the protocol and the interactions with players.

My only recommendation is that his next 2-3 setups must be cleared by foolishness/kita/igrok/etc. before they can start.

Town: 5x vt, 1x jk, 1x town rb, 1x 1-shot town jk; 1x dt; 3P: 1x sk; Mafia: 1x goon, 1x gf, 1 scum rb. If you add in masonry, even unconfirmed masonry, it makes the game easier for town. If you add in a 10th town-aligned player, that should also make it easier for town. EDIT: Or wait, are you complaining the game was too town-favored? That would make more sense, I guess. I don't understand the complaint. so vague. No details. zzz

That being said, I still don't see any cause for a ban or violation of rules. The serious problems (forced mafia-mafia mason pairing, the wincons of the 3p) with this setup were all open and available. When you /ined, you knew that there would be a 3p which had a 33% chance of being pro-town and a 67% chance of being pro-swing, and that mafia would be in the bad position of having a guaranteed mason pair of mafia-mafia. Looks like HaruRH was hosting his first game or whatever and made some mistakes, but in terms of balance, everything that was unbalanced about this game was in the OP before the game started. Even if there were like, no blue roles at all, or just a Cop, or something, that wouldn't solve the balance problems. That's certainly no good, but it also means that everyone who /inned knew what they were getting into. You could argue that the implications of the setup are non-obvious to someone trying to analyze it without having the setup get played out by real players, so you couldn't have known it would be so bad; but HaruRH would probably respond by saying that the same is true for him.
