This is because unlike the Vigilante a Jailkeeper can't do much harm to town and can do a lot of good, especially if scum have absolutely no idea who they are or who they're targeting.

So Alakaslam, if you want to clear yourself in my eyes, you are going to have to vote Onegu. That is the only way I can know for sure that you guys aren't on the same team.
If he flips town(which is extremely unlikely), you are cleared of all blame.
If he flips scum, you will be scrutinized, but I will take some time to reconsider because you did vote for him.
Voting for Onegu is a win-win situation for you if you are town. The only reason you wouldn't vote him would be if you are scum.

On that note, I believe it would be wise for the parity cop to check Onegu with someone else so that we can get some hard evidence to work with that confirms my theory. Use your best judgement to choose someone pro-town to use as the other pairing.
All of this is, of course, assuming that a parity cop exists.

I'm against trying to dictate the Blue Roles at this juncture. I'm feeling frustrated because I think we all have some pretty strong town reads by this point, and I have a lot of confidence in the playing ability of the people I have pegged as strongly Town. By saying this stuff out loud, it gives scum ideas on who to track/block/frame.

My point was: Aqua is bulletproof tonight (from the scum NK). Even if they are both town and the scum want Onegu lynched day 2, they still will not NK Aqua tonight.

Speculating on mafia night actions in a newbie game seems like an invitation for WIFOM Hell. It doesn't really get us any closer to finding scum, and it convolutes whatever Occam's Razor we might benefit from. I could post a list of people who I think are safe from mafia tonight (and that list would be exactly 8 people long; believe me, I made it and then deleted it), but what good does that do us?

To clarify: I am NOT saying that a Vig should shoot aqua. A mis-kill would be disastrous, and I am not claiming him to be scum.
I was just thinking 'if this guy flipped now, what would it tell us'. And I realized that the town stands more to gain from an Aqua flip than anyone else. Aqua had the second wagon in day 1, and there is now a wagon forming on Onegu, who claims he will make his case on Aqua.

I'm going through Onegu's filter. I don't think the scumtell that's being thrown around is 100%, but it's up there. I really hope he brings the thunder with his morning post. Please keep open minds when players under suspicion bring new content.
I also can't wrap my head around how mathematically at least two Townies at one point put their vote on Aqua. The final ballot had:
hzflank, Xzavier, Onegu, Alakaslam, and StiMaddict
Of those, all could be town, or three could be town (assuming a 3-scum set-up). But two townies were either convinced by scum or got there on their own natural reads that Aqua was scum. Of those 5, two are confirmed to still suspect him: Onegu and Xzavier. Everyone knows my thoughts on StiM, and I'm sure there are as many opinions as there are people in regards to Alakaslam. hzflank, I'm going to go through your filter now. Please do not be offended.

I asked the question to hear your reasons for thinking I won't be shot tonight, so as to get a better idea of how seriously you're analysing the game. I can see your point though about direct relevancy and the answer isn't vitally important to me at the moment, so I'm willing to let that question go.

People are talking about posting their cases before the night actions occur. The scum will therefore have a reasonable indication of how the day 2 voting might go before they even have to get their night actions in.
I disagreed on Hurricane's policy, so I wanted to push him on it. Maybe he knew someone that I did not?
Regardless, I would be very careful of letting the scum know who the wagons will be on before they have to pick their night kill.
