Tunkeg
My previous thoughts on him: click
I find it funny that MG and gonzaw are saying "who do you find scummy who do you want to lynch" when I've already voted -_- . Not reading clearly? My previous thoughts on Tunkeg revolved around how his push on Jackal and his reaction towards BH are scummy.
Expanding on that:

I find it suspicious that you imply that it is "more likely" for newbie townies to make mistakes then for a newbie scum to make a mistake. The only way to figure out whether a suspicious newbie is either scum or town is by pressuring them, then judging whether their reactions come from a scum or town perspective. If you don't even allow for this pressure, then such players glide by until LYLO. The fact that you discourage such pressure, and that you buddy up to S.T. despite him not doing much to show signs of innocence makes me suspicious of you. This buddying is, to me, indicative of either scumbuddies, or an attempt to gain a link to S.T. that will help Tunkeg, depending on S.T's alignment.

I will not comment on the random lynch thingy to you, because you don't want to lynch me for it. Lets just say I disagree...
Now for who I would lynch right now:
Noone, but if forced:
1. Blazinghand for his easy cases.
2. Kenpachi for being useless and should have known better.
"But Tunkeg why wouldn't you lynch ET, Grackaroni, michaelthe, mementos and the others who have suspected you?"
Well, even though I think they aren't playing great, I don't think they are scummy atm. This because I am actually capable of understanding that players I disagree with not neccesarily is scum.

If I thought that gonzaw "wasn't taking stances", this is the granddaddy satan version of not taking a stance. He says he wants to lynch BH for going after "easy case" which isn't a good enough reason at all, and Kenpachi, for no reason. He hasn't constructed a legitimate case all game despite being decently active, and hasn't responded logically or effectually to people's pressure on him. He doesn't have the "newbie" excuse for not being able to respond to pressure; he's just looking super scummy.

It's always tough when approaching the subject of newbies because of the risk of mistaking noobiness for scumminess, but I think that S.T.'s posting is sufficiently scummy that he cannot be ignored.

Hi all. I'm against voting for anyone currently posting in this thread, especially on turn 1. Let's take a little time to let the game get going before we jump to conclusions. I'm agreed on voting for any inactive players tho. Back to post after easter, I'll be reading the thread all day.

This post is quite bad in that S.T. is saying he is not willing to act on anything happening in thread moment and will only vote for someone who is inactive; essentially S.T. is saying "I don't plan on making any cases or stances any time soon". This could just be a poor newbie mindset, but it stands that this is quite a scummy post.
He's pretty quick to belligerence:

Every other person who posts is so quick to accuse people of frivolous shit. You say that I'm a lurker because my statements were 'fuck all shit'? What sort of deep and compelling analysis are you looking for in the first few pages of a mafia thread? What's important is for everyone to get a few words in and start to develop some actual relationships to analyze over the coming days?

Without really making up for his mistakes (i.e. or defending himself logically. While not a pure scumtell, if one is attacked and doesn't have a legitimate way to defend oneself (i.e. if you're scum), then one resorts to insults and curse words instead of a logical response. I would expect a newbie town to act flustered in more verbose, indignant manner, than in a dismissive aggressive manner.
His only stance in the game so far has been "shouldn't lynch Jackal b/c it will hurt his record". Another thing I expect from newbie towns is for them to have a decent array of random thoughts on various things; instead, S.T. doesn't say much despite being under a fair amount of pressure. Tunkeg's fear that pressure on S.T. will cause S.T. to make "newbie town" mistakes is not even possible because S.T. isn't talking much at all. This kind of apathy in the face of pressure doesn't say "newbie lurker" to me; it says "scummy newman".
The only other game I found with S.T. is this game from two years ago; this is not hard evidence b/c its from 2 years ago (obviously), but as a new townie there, S.T. posted his opinions on this or that, in contrast to this game. Also, in that game he responds pleasantly to the notion that of lurkers, saying "I will post more as the day goes on and stuff happens". Contrast that with his reaction to BH's poke at him, and there's a prty big gulf.
Janaan
Yeah yeah, I dismissed gonzaw earlier when he asked me, but it prompted me to re-read his filter.

1.I see we started early. Excellent. This will be my first non-newbie mini game, so bear with me while I get a handle on reading and analyzing a much bigger thread with 3 times the players.
2.Only things that have really stood out to me so far: I like VE's initiative to get rid of lurking in a proactive way. My town games have pretty much been ruined by just a couple people lurking, and I imagine with more people playing, that problem could potentially be even worse.
3.Sl0osh, I know you're a pretty smart guy, I find it interesting that you didn't understand the Stealthy mechanic, at least well enough to have a basic understanding of it. The first thing that came to my mind when you asked for clarification? You could need more information because you ARE stealthy. I've got my eye on you.
4.Other than that, so far it seems to be mostly people posting fluffy first hour of Day 1 statements as people often do.

Gonzaw found the summation of 1-4 to be scummy enough for a vote. I personally thought that #3/4 were not scummy (I agreed in part with 3, and 4 is just Janaan talking), #1 was minorly scummy (talking about newbiness is a very small scumtell), and #2 was semi-scummy, because he is buddying to VE and not talking about much. However, since I only found some of this post scummy, and since it was his first post (opening posts often have setup fluff), this didn't raise the biggest red flag to me.
However, I feel that his case on Jitsu is pretty insubstantial, and is a forced attempt to put something out when pressured. Janaan hasn't posted that much so it is hard to get a read on him, but he doesn't feel as genuine as I remember him in Suprisingly Normal Mini VII. In that game, he was a lot more active, but not only that, he was assertive towards people, posted reads and opinions on many things, and just sounded a lot more forthright and open. Though inactivity could be due to being busy, it stands that Janaan has not been very decisive when I know he can be.
My vote remains on Tunkeg because I feel that he has been more artificial in his posting, and he has been around/active enough that if he had wanted to make substantial cases / respond to pressure on him, he easily could've. To S.T. and Janaan, respond to this and start/expand on your cases, because at the moment all you are doing is scummily lurking, and I won't stand for that.
