gonzaw: maybe or maybe not you posted too much. But nonetheless I think you played very well. Your reads were correct and you were totally confirmed town to me, ET, Mementoss, etc. which is important and an achievement anyway. | ||

You were so active in the ObsQTs that I couldn't believe you'd lurk that hard as town. Turns out that was more than true  I had strong town reads on ET, Gonzaw, Marvellosity and Mementoss by the end of day 1. Also Risen, although he could do with toning down the antagonism. I've seen Tunkeg and FourFace play better so they were null for me. I really want FourFace to roll scum to see what the hell he does then. For some reason I still can't read Katina after three games. On Tunkeg's policy lynch thing: If you're going to push that as anything other than a troll, you don't want to lynch players with a bad overall record. You want to lynch players who have a better record as scum than town. Still, it got a few posts out of Jackal... | ||

My "random" lynch proposal is one of those things I do every game (except in the newbie I was in). In Student I did the probability lynch thing, and yeah that one was pretty bad, but at the time I thought it was good. In AC I chipped in on Cyber Cheeses side on the Batman claim post. In this game I did the "random" lynch, and in I'm a cop I shouldn't really discuss yet. My playstyle is that I want to get reactions, I want people to take stances on stuff. Sometimes I propose things I firmly belive in, sometimes I propose things like the "random" lynch of jackal. And trust me I never wanted to have Jackal lynched day one. I wanted people to say their opinion on it, I wanted to see how Jackal responded, who would come to his defence and who wouldn't. If the lynch had picked up steam you better believe there would have been alot of scum in on it (unless Jackal's response were clearly scummy). It wasn't, he got clearly annoyed by me, and in his own word found me to be an arrogant dick. This should have made me think of him as very unlikely scum (as I found his reaction to be genuine). It didn't though as I so derpely said during night 1. Would I have done it if it was someone else at the bottom of the list, maybe, depending on who it was. I wouldn't have done it with someone who had just a couple of games under their belt, because I don't think pushing on the new guys allways give a favorable outcome to town. Also I do not in any way think that my list show the true nature of a players skill, so any of you who feel offended by me posting the list, don't be. Why is random lynch a good subject (lets not discuss whether it was random or not, as I know picking Jackal weren't random per say)? I think it is a good subject early day 1 because you don't have much else to talk about. Everyone can easily chip in, you will have players who obsess about it, players who get annoyed at it, players who think the target of the lynch is a bad choice and players who ignore it all together. There is loads of information to be gathered from it, maybe nothing you can use alone but together with other stuff. Did the list produce the outcome I wanted? No, or at least not the outcome I was anticipating. I was hoping that in a silent town (imo) we could get people to talk about a subject like this. Instead it became almost every townie calling me either scummy or bad for it, and not accepting my reasoning, which clearly pissed me off. But for me it became usefull afterall (for most just a distraction), I noticed pretty early that the veterans paid little attention to it, and didn't call me out on it, which made me think that the list in itself weren't that bad (making me even more angry everytime someone felt the need to bring it up). I got suspicious of adam based on his wishy washy post on me, and how he maybe would vote me (I feel he wouldn't do this day 1 as town as he knows about some of my shenanigans). It was also waht made me suspicious about VE when he just threw his vote on me without previously calling me bad or scummy. Would I do it again? Maybe not, knowing the outcome of it. Because while I got some decent reads from it, I think it overall disrupted the town more then it contributed. Will I do similar stuff in future games? Yeah, if I feel like it. It all depends. I can also see me playing a Kenpachi style where I don't get into heated arguements early (which really narrows my mind when it comes to listening to that person for the rest of the game). And where I can lean back, find one or two players each day I find scummy and give my short summary of why they are scummy. | ||
