I would suggest 20 man if you want a serious game. It's impossible to avoid a bunch of modkills or inactive players with 30.

Then again if you're going for a Caller style game it doesn't really matter lol.

I think it is due to start after GM Newbie game that is ongoing. I PM'd Zona asking about it but haven't heard back. We seriously need more minis here. All the non-newbie games are big games or themed things. Maybe I should PM Kurumi...

If there can't be an Insane 3, is anyone interested in writing a set-up with me? We could think of a particular theme/name, but I'd like to get a game on the queue. I miss hosting, particularly writing day/night posts. I could stick to my normal approach and do some kind of horror theme. A futuristic theme would be fun though.

Space Station Mafia or something like that.

minis finish fast and there's gaps in the hosting queue between when minis get hosted.

Honestly I think there should be a separate schedule for minis. Wiggles is hosting one and I'm hosting one right after, so we'll see how those go I guess. I love them and from what I've seen they're always popular. Hard to go wrong with a mini, really.

Me and Kita would like a lock in the queue for the next open Themed spot please.

Put it down as Space Station Mafia, the title might change a little bit though.

Well apparently we have a shortage of players and too many hosts. I don't see why we can't have a mini going most of the time. They require relatively more hosts and less players and start and end quickly. I mean we could have a newbie always on, minis most of the time and the random big game thrown in. It is kind of the opposite now.

They require relatively more hosts and less players and start and end quickly. I mean we could have a newbie always on, minis most of the time and the random big game thrown in. It is kind of the opposite now.

If you check GM's thread, I mention in there that if constant recruitment is going to happen we'll constantly run newbie games, as those games only take from the pool of new players and not all the mafia players.

Zona is still mia so probably going to wait a little longer before I remove his game. In the meantime we'll just host whoever is after.

If we're going to be running more Mini's, I would think we should only do normal Mini's. As I said above we need more normal games. I would like a system where there's always a Roman Numeral game up and a normal Mini up, and then we put up themed games more slowly. I'm not quite sure if our player base is big enough for this. And I'd rather have Roman Numeral games constantly running than Mini's.

Minor updates to the queue
1) I'm going to be very strict from now on in that normal games should be normal in every sense possible. That is, a normal game should probably be of the title "TL Mafia Roman Numeral". We need more normal games anyways.

2) Adding into the OP the list of Newbie Game hosts. Since we will probably be running these constantly, these are the list of people who are generally always free to host them, and I will be proactive in asking these hosts to run the games. Ideally we will be putting up a newbie game, and as soon as it starts we will toss up another. If you would like to be one of these hosts let me know (experienced hosts/players preferred of course). This is also a great way to get hosting experience if you have none.

Fair enough. It's just that for someone like me who has played too many games to join the Newbie Minis I have to wait until someone decides to make one. If we are going to have more big games, it means I will most likely play less. I'm always down for a normal mini. Thanks Foolishness

Yes. In the grand scheme of things we should probably cut back on the amount of themed games we host.

Edit: dreamflower and Qatol will be hosting the next newbie game

I did a quick tally of Meapak's census regarding which types of setups players would like to see more of it it was pretty much split equally:

More Normal: 21
More Themed: 19
More Minis: 17

I'm not sure cutting the number of themed games in favor of always hosting a normal game would be better than keeping an equal distribution like we have now

Weighting the 2nd and 3rd picks into it gives basically the same numbers, more or less even between normal, themed and minis, with Large games WAY behind. Foolishness has a point that Normal games should be Normal, not stealth-Themed, but the census is quite clear that there is no preference of normal over themed ones.
