Iguodala should have been The Beard, then you could shop a Chuck Norris style chinfist into this. Laser beams out of Andres eyes would also work.

You have never been in an amazingly intense high pressure situation. Apologies are nothing but a distraction when you're really focused on trying to not get upset AGAIN.

I still don't know why you are being surprised by everyone hating on Fernandez. What LBJ did was unintentionnal, and it happens quite regularly, and its not a big deal at all. Fernandez however is a blatant flopper.

But I don't like this "these are good, these are bad" arguments. You have bad behaviours from both, not just that one I mentioned from LBJ, but that goes unnoticed in such a forum ![]()

When you are focused on a tense, competitive match, you don't always apologize for everything.

After he told me about this stuff I've looked differently at those replays of one guy stepping with crampons on another dude that's down, even if it looks like he couldn't avoid it.

Don't tear things out of context, it's clear that the actual poke was not intentional. That being said, it still was quite a physical game on both ends of the floor, which I'm fine with, it was a game for gold after all. What I'm not fine with is how Spain threw its game agains Brazil. I'm not buying the arguments of a bad day for Spain, it was pretty clear to me that they couldn't care less about winning. And Rudy Fernandez is an absolute disgrace to this sport. He's done his flopping acts again and again and again. I hate it when football players do it (and they do it all the time) and I hate the idea that it now might catch up to the sport I care really care about. I wouldn't even care that much if it happened in an NBA game, but on the olympic stage, where you compete for pride and glory and not necessarily for money? Utterly disgusting... I usually root against the U.S. team because I like it when an underdog steals the show. But this time, I was rooting against Spain out of disgust.

At least spain is usually on the side that receives the harsh and rough play, and not the ones poking eyes, punching guts and forklifting people. Rooting against the best national team outside US of the last 10 years because of 1 player says nothing good, when you chose to root for a team that has a few buncer and gorilla antics "Im a god suck my dick" attitude guys. And n the people calling out Rudy, if you could get your US bias lenses from the eyes, you would have seen he was not the only one, Paul has more than a few times where he exagerated every touch. But what enrages me is that we are discussing about this and that and not mentioning that this was a hell of a game, up there with the Pekin 2008 finals. Both teams played their hearts out and was a huge show to watch. Im glad I could watch the game and pay attention to every bit of it. P.S: Please, make Durant play blidndfolded,. otherwise it is not fair!

Luckily for your team, it isn't as obvious in Basketball if you're throwing a game as it is in other sports *cough* Badminton *cough*. [...] I think it's pretty clear who's the one being biased here, which is fine, you're from Spain after all. But don't call others out on it, especially if they just stated that they would have rooted AGAINST Team USA, if Spain hadn't made it so ridiculously easy to root against them in these olympic games. And it wasn't about exaggerating, which happens all the time. It was blatant flopping without even the tiniest bit of contact. And I'm clearly not only speaking about this game alone. But you're right, except for the second quarter, that last game was really fun to watch and competetive to the teeth. Still, I hate it when my favorite sport is tarnished in pathetic ways, which sadly was the case the last few days.

It's mostly the players making their own calls, playing on instinct, using NBA experience to figure out how to compensate. Coach K is no doubt much better than Scariolo, but to say that swapping the two would change the outcome of the game? You have some of the most intelligent basketball players in the world playing on the US squad, I think they know what calls to make.
