I quite like Expect and Perkz these days. Perkz seems to have grown up a lot over the year. Misfits are prob the team I'm rooting for the most to improve though.

I've had the impression for a long time now that Splyce benefited the most from the level of competition in EU plummeting and now that region is starting to climb back up they getting massively exposed. They should be lower middle tier team and not the high they finished last year.

These casters are real snore. No idea why they sucking him off soo much when that fight was mostly Jesiz seeing the opportunity and pulling it off really well.
Yeah not surprised at all by this. It sucks that private stuff has such consequences but that is how it works. Still shaking my head over his stupidity though.
Misfits vs NiP game 3 was so scrappy... Really poor play from Misfits getting caught and losing that bot lane inhib, luckily NiP have no strategy and Sprattel is way too desperate to make plays.
Brother Trick kicking Shen over the wall to save him and giving up bot tower...
And NiP doing as everyone expected them to. It is pretty funny how obvious that one was. Their roster and coach decisions could not have been much worse. You would think an experienced esports org like NiP would know better but nope. Sucks that so much better orgs are in challenger though because they decided to not buy in for whatever reason and because the last cs playoffs went so weirdly.

I THINK the implication is that MM had a mediocre challenger team but bought a spot in EULCS whereas RedBull/S04/etc could have bought the same spot MM did

MM and NiP did not even play in challenger, they bought into LCS. So makes no sense to use that to compare anything. If you meant to refer to the players not the org, S04 also played way better over the course of cs than FNA or MFA. Playoff semis was the only time S04 even lost a game.
A single match can of not determine which team is better let alone which org.
I mean, if these orgs are supposed to be better and more LCS worthy than NiP/MM they should have qualified instead of failing for their entire existence. S04 got relegated from LCS once already.
They seem to be a team that is pretty close to each other. But yeah they should have made a change a while ago, it is just tough to watch at this point..
For next season they can maybe pick up one of the CS mids from this split like Magifelix.
Their drafts are also questionable so they should consider hiring a new analyst. Don't want to blame their coach yet but the guy needs to step up if they want to maintain their position as 3rd/4th team in Europe.
It's hard from the outside to tell if it's the coach drafting bad comps or the players forcing bad comps with lacking champion pool. Knowing how close UoL is as Redox pointed out I doubt the coach is authoritarian in draft phase. More like Exileh just can't play much and forces certain picks that just don't work. Having mid lane being that huge a liability really hurts the junglers ability to impact the game which then snowballs into other lanes struggling. Really think mid lane is one of if not the most important position to have an "anchor" type of player.
I wasn't sure if I missed him leaving or something. People make such a big fuss about that guy so was curious. Hoping fnatic look super solid next week to restore some faith in EU.
I'd feel worse for NIP if they didn't buy the spot, kick out the players who earned it, then formed one of the strangest rosters assembled to try and keep it
I still don't understand how Riot thought getting rid of the 'X number of players must play on the roster the following split' rule was a good idea to let this happen anyway but I digress. NiP gets no sympathy from me, Fnatic Academy earned the spot, they deserved the spot. Not the roster they ended with.
I agree that Riot is to blame for creating a shitty situation. NIP wanted to keep some of the players, but their hand was kind of forced when the players made their demand.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the takeover of the slot from Fnatic fans, with fans believing the FNA team were neglected and then replaced during the takeover. Could you shed some light on NiP's decision making when deciding on the final roster?
Absolutely. The team was not neglected as we wanted to bring several of the players over as they are worthy of playing in the LCS. Before speaking to Fnatic, we were putting together a roster to enter through another slot and had already done some work. Taking all the Fnatic players while we had made commitments on the other would also have been wrong, and we were left in a situation where we had to make a choice where someone would be disappointed. We simply did not have room for all of them. We did not want to break our commitments to the coaching team that had put together this roster and worked with us on entering the LCS again.
Why did you decide to bring on an entirely new roster rather than pick up the entire FNA roster?
They put up an ultimatum where we tried finding a solution, unfortunately it just got messy from the Fnatic player end. I am a bit disappointed in the way this was handled by both Fnatic and their players, as the behavior was not professional and generated hate towards NiP. That was uncalled for in my opinion. Their behavior after the acquisition makes me more comfortable with our decision as professionalism and good player conduct is a key requirement being a Ninjas in Pyjamas player.
To be clear, I'm not saying NIP is innocent. I just don't think it deserves the full blame.

Also with Misfits winning G2 is locked at worlds right? That also means UoL is probably fucked as I doubt they can beat Fnatic in a best of 5
I believe they are yea. I mean they prob were anyway since H2K will choke like usual. Misfits playing really well but can't help feel Fnatic look kind of bad. Haven't been impressed with this Falco guy as number 1 since he left TSM. Some people are just better number 2s. That last fnatic draft was just awful for the team.

Looks like Rift Rivals wasn't a wake up call for Europe, it was a foreshadowing.
Hahaha. Honestly Misfits making it is good. They legitimately look good when they in the groove.

Btw PoE with impacable performance every game. Feels like he has been somewhat underrated.
PowerofEvil been good for a long time since Challenger 2014 I thought he was good then with his Syndra. He grown a lot since his time in the LCS but still got his pocket pick Syndra ready.

PoE did well and Caps helped in making him look good. Caps' last game looked like he's on autopilot, he didn't even use his ult in last teamfights.
I think Fnatic has a problem with having multiple players (Soaz/Caps/Rekkles) being unable to communicate their problems, so once things get bad, they can only get worse.
I don't think it's a coincidence Fnatic has only looked good when the rest of Europe has been really bad. They a team that just never really fixed any of their issues.
I'm so glad Fnatic lost. The storyline the casters were falling all over themselves for with Fnatic reclaiming the throne after a year and a half was annoying.
They showed the year stats during the game, H2K basically get shit on by any good team and beat the low teams. That's how they keep getting into playoff positions but never actually do anything with it. I did call this yesterday though :D
The idea of it is to have the bulk from RoA so you don't die instantly to incidental damage and help burn through tanks with consistent damage through her passive and nashor's boosted autos.
Oh wow, Rekkles and Jesiz are exposing Nuclear Chei so hard. And Fnatic are good enough to push that disadvantage around the map, Caps can just roam top all day if bot doesn't need help.

Yeah, Fnatic's only style kind of relies on their botlane snowballing and H2K's is hot and cold.
Not a particularly exciting finals, but the best EU teams are going to worlds, which is nice, and in the order I would rank them too. Although I could totally see Misfits improving with a solid bootcamp.
