I don't get the "KOO will not be able to kill Maokai lategame" from Monte.
They've got Ashe who has very consistent damage output, Gnar will outtank Maokai while Mega, Rek'Sai outtanks Elise easily and has more cc, Morgana (Black Shield) and Fizz (kill threat) protect Ashe from TF easily, Fizz can also zone him as long as he doesn't dive too hard.
KOO's composition wasn't particularly stronger lategame unless they splitpush (and then Ashe ult happens).

Shy and Madlife 2v8. Seriously, Ambition did absolutely nothing useful. I don't know what's come over Coco and Space... Getting picked off like that. Shy has his down moments (getting caught) but he made up for it with stellar play otherwise, and Madlife made up for his 2 crap games with amazing thresh play. Sadly, the carries plus ambition just didn't do enough.

Shy can block all line spells from one direction, if they dump line spells on him at that point in the game it's not really worth it because he takes forever to kill. So if CJ played like that their only problem would be fizz flanks which they could handle with deep wards.

Instead the game turned when CJ pushed mid with 4 members while maokai was behind wraiths (??? dunno why). Then an ashe arrow went straight on coco and CJ lost their momentum. If Shy was just standing in front there I don't know what KOO could do.
