Players care about everything - money, fame, status, winning. Certain players put different weightings on each of those aspects. To think faker is the most selfless player ever and only cares about his team winning would be naive. He definitely cares about his own status as being the best individual, and he didn't get to prove it today on a very important stage. There are certain limits to what a player would be okay with and I guarantee that he won't ever let SKT sit him out for an entire finals again. It's like if the Bulls had Michael Jordan riding the bench for an entire series. Sure, the rest of the team might've been able to win without him. But it's fucking insane to have one of the best players in the history of the game riding the bench when he could be playing. I turned the broadcast off at the start of game 2. Now I'm really glad I did. There is something to be said for putting Faker in a closer or 'relief pitcher'. He'll have none of the mental fatigue the rest of the team has and is the best player. No matter how clever the strategy is, fuck that, I just want to see Faker.

Easyhoon finally showing some killer instinct. Wonder if he will keep up the confident aggression in the future or if it was just because kuro was so lackluster. Would be sick to see easyhoon evolve even if it makes skt's roster even more of a circus.

First, the important thing to remember is that MSI only allows for 1 sub, meaning either Easyhoon or Tom goes with the team, and if I recall correctly, Monte predicted it would be Tom due to two main things. 1. Making other teams plan for two junglers is very weird, considering that the two junglers have very different playstyles, whereas preparing for two mid laners could also be hard, but Easyhoon has a very small champion pool and is actually changing playstyle. 2. Honestly however well Easyhoon does, as he is a very good player, has started to change playstyle. It used to be where Easyhoon was the passive, farm up type of player. Now, we see that he is becoming that aggressive playmaking mid laner. I really love seeing this new Easyhoon, however, now if he isn't a passive mid laner, then he isn't as useful to the team, because they already have an incredible playmaking mid laner with faker. I believe two things can happen. Either they take Easyhoon to sub with Faker (as remember, the main advantage to the experimentation experiment is that if faker goes on tilt (whether during a series or just during a tournament in general) you have an amazing mid laner to play for him so he can get his thoughts together)). Another option would be to take Tom to play instead of Bengi in certain matches, because although Bengi is very good in the cinderhulk meta, he even said he enjoys Tom's presence as it takes a weight off his shoulder. Bengi focuses more on vision, and all together is a great teamfighter and has great objective control, where Tom has incredible ganks and teamfighting (meaning he has better mechanics, just not vision control and objective control). The option of taking Picaboo is irrelevant as although he and Wolf are by far two of the best supports in the world, his wrist is injured I believe, so he won't even be an option if I am remembering this right. So in my opinion, Tom is the best sub to take, however Easyhoon is a very viable option. SKT's new strategy is actually very nice, seeing it come to light in the CJ vs SKT to this GE vs SKT. You play the subs Easyhoon and Tom, and if they fail (games 1 and 2 of CJ match) then you bring in Faker and Bengi, and they can make up for the mistakes (Bang proved himself to be a carry in game 4, and showed the world that at MSI he needs to be watched or he will rip apart the enemy team). Game 5 was over when game 4 ended, the blind pick setup in Korea basically guranteed SKT the game, as Faker's leblanc and Bang's Kalista couldn't be banned out, basically screwing over CJ (as they are both the best IMO on those champs). In the GE match we saw the same strategy come out, but they didn't even need to bring in Bengi or Faker, which Bengi was quite happy about because it means they stomped GE, but Faker not so much. Faker seems to be a prideful person, but not too much. He hates losing lane, and very obviously wasn't happy when Pawn solo-killed him a bunch of times. He was happy that they won, but not happy that he didn't get a last chance to prove himself before MSI. The odds that they don't take Faker and instead take Easyhoon are incredibly low. Faker is overall a better mid laner and has more presence in the international stage then Easyhoon (everyone except Pawn and maybe Westdoor will be at the very least concerned if he is playing). Easyhoon is a good mid laner, don't get me wrong, but Faker would be the better choice by far. Where Easyhoon has proven he can do incredibly well, he also proved he can fail in the CJ Entus series. Faker has proved he can fail, but has never done so internationally. Internationally he won worlds, and even though SKT was in 7th place or so in OGN, dominated All-Stars. Now this fact made it obvious that a top korean team will dominate Worlds 2014 (being SSW). Tom has also proven he can fail and do well, but Bengi seems to act as though Tom is his partner in the scenario. One lifts the stress from the other when needed. Either SKT or EDG win MSI. That much is for sure. SKT has proven they have incredible players and great teamwork, even great comebacks. Where EDG has proven to have unrivaled team fight capability. EDG's main flaw is that they almost always lose laning phase and come back through good teamfights. SKT's flaw being that sometimes they over commit on certain fights, making them lose some of their lead often. TSM probably won't do well, as Bjergsen isn't going to be able to go carry-mode when he faces the best mid laners in the world (he can't easily beat Pawn, Faker, Westdoor, or Febiven, but probably Energy). And Lustboy won't be able to make great plays when other teams are more attentive to the champs he plays, even if he is good on them (The kennen support pick destroyed NA, whereas its a common thing in Korea and LPL). Wildturtle usually depends on that late game carry, and the great teamfighting from these top teams prevent him from doing that. Santorin will do good I believe, just not good enough to carry. Dyrus will feed, and looking at this tourney its scary for him. Almost every top laner going is a carry-style top laner, Huni, Marin, and Koro1 being the ones to name. They look to destroy lane, and Dyrus hasn't done too well in laning in the past. Fnatic may do well, but I doubt it. In whole the team has been shown to fail when needed, and not close out games when they can. Sorry for the incredibly long post, just some of my opinions.

Really should be cross posted in MSI because it's a great read. The chance he goes on tilt is tiny. He has done it once obviously, SSW vs SKT. Faker got solo-killed once, and he tried stupidly to 1v1 Pawn 4 more times, giving him 3 more solo kills. The chance he goes on tilt is tiny, but just in the case he does thats the main reason Easyhoon was taken in. Since then his role in the organization has expanded, and now he is basically a first barrier to all mid laners. Beat Easyhoon, and you go against Faker. Thats where most mid laner will start feeding, exception being pawn.

God: Well son, before the season started all the good players had left for China, while I stayed in Korea for a specific reason. So we were left facing off against a shitter named kurO. He was so bad, we let your god father Easyhoon run ignite against him and he won all three games. God's son: Couldn't they have let you play in the last game? God: I was letting Easyhoon take the spotlight for once. And son, that's how I met your mother, Cho Eunjung.
