There's still a long time between now and Worlds, expecting a Korean team to be the winner still seems fairly reasonable. SK Telecom T1 #2 played their first competitive game on like the 8th of March in season three and they won worlds. I guess we are in a more competitive era than season three, but Korea has a proven track record. Samsung obviously going to be repeat world champions.

China actually has a longer proven track record in MOBA games excellence. Think Dota and Dota2. I mean if GE Tigers is by far the best LCK team right now (and they are), it doesn't really bode well for the level of competition in KR now comparing to China. You could argue that GET underprepared/underestimated their opponent, but still...and it's not like WE actually prepared anything. They played it out like a Chinese challenger ranked game. Whether or not and by how much can KR improve is a matter remains to be seen.
