How will he be able to find a top team ? Everyone else is gone too.
There's no one in Korea to form an elite team with him, a Samsung Blue/White level team. He'll be on his own, and his return won't change anything. Some pros coming back and integrating the current mediocre teams won't do anything for Korea.
Korea would need 5 elite players to decide to come back together, at the same time, and form a team. Maybe that's possible, I don't know, but for now Korea has a long way to go before it returns to its past glory.

Does anyone have competitive winrate for Sion? I feel like he's the strongest champion in the game currently, and was interested in finding out

Honestly top 2-3 LSPL are probably better than them, so they're probably like 13th/14th place in China, lol. Swift's team is probably better, idk about ADG without BaeMe, I'm yet to see them. But yep, that's pretty much it, WE shouldn't die in LPL promotions though, unless they really collapse heavily. Vici Potential (Heart's team) is probably on par/better than WE too.
They're facing Legend Dragon though, that might be an upset, so who knows how will brackets go for them.

China does not remotely have the same infrastructure and gaming culture. They do have money though, and are able to buy success via poaching Korean players, which has the simultaneous effect of improving the Chinese scene while weakening the Korean scene, leading to parity. But the cost is pretty high and it doesn't look all that great when you have to win by buying top Korean players + top Korean coaches. Around 40% of both LPL and LSPL are filled with Koreans. Basically every top LPL team has a Korean coach except OMG.

Doesn't matter though since I think mata would just retire and go to the military at that point honestly rather than rejoining a random korean team for slave wages.

The only other international esport I can think of that China is big in is Dota where they don't completely dominate even though they once did. Even China being big in DotA is never endless reign. Like, there were those great teams like EHOME-2010, ZSMJ's LGD, Nirvana.CN, but since that day, there wasn't a single day, when China could enter any tournament being undisputed #1, outside of TI2. TI4...? 5 Chinese teams enter, all 5 in top 8, only eliminated by other Chinese teams, got ~80% of the prize pool collectrively, CN-CN finals.
Yes but then straight after that CN gets dominated so it's not like they are this untouchable juggernaut that once they take reign they'll never give it up. TI2 they had #1 but then TI3 they got owned at the very top. That's the point we making here.
edit: Oh god we summoned the hater

Yes, and there is an easy explanation for why they don't monopolize the Dota scene: there's no Korea to poach from.

Are you leaving out the part that most of the LPL/LSPL teams who have korean coaches or korean teammates, the Koreans tend to get outperformed by their Chinese counterparts? Literally aside from the major big names, most of the teams are sidegraded at best ...

Did they really enter like undisputed favourites? LGD weren't considered as favourite to get to top-8, iG are always shaky, DK/Newbee/VG, for sure, and even then, Newbee struggled so heavily in first few days that even I, being Hao fanboy, wasn't sure in anything.
But okay.
If not for unicorn, WE could have legit chance in this game. But Aluka is too LPL champion.
Lol, Azarkon is summoned, well done, babes.

Nah they were off form going into TI4. Only people that thought they were favorites were fanboys or people that didn't pay attention to the scene.

Is that why Deft, Pawn, Imp, etc. are carrying their teams every game? There are Chinese teams in which the Korean players are not the MVPs, but no Chinese team in which the Koreans aren't having a huge impact.
