Maybe make it so the final roster has one player from each team (although some teams really don't have an all star at any position, so I dunno if that'd be any good). I agree. Having players rotate inbetween games with some tag like system might be fun to watch lol I dunno. Like any sport, it has to be good for the spectators. The NBA all-star game is entirely fan voted as well, and some years IS a pretty intense game (other years it can be a complete joke). Oops wait, you said it counts for something. What does it count towards?
Last year it counted as a spot for worlds. Imagine the NBA all-star game, but whichever conference wins gets an extra spot in the playoffs.

I wonder how many times Alarics neighbours have complained about the noise.

Oh, wow. That's a completely different story then and a terrible analogy on my part. Still, it is a spectator driven "sport".

Tried to make a better version of the Amazing Kick but it keeps doing the green artifacting. Shame, it's so gif worthy.

I think your analogy is fine - sometimes fan voting leads to a fun game. Making fan voted games actually count never turns out that well. Baseball does it, but has a massive roster selected by team managers too. Even then it's weird to have that game count for home field advantage in the world series.
Like you said, it's a spectator driven sport, so fan voting and good games are obviously fun for fans and good for Riot's business. They just need to make it not count, and find other ways to create excitement and potentially involve more players because out of the 8 people per position there's sometimes more than just one person who deserves a spot. NA top lane is a good example of this.

It makes it better, as soon as lee ults the screen breaks. D: amazing so amazing he breaks gifs.

I loved the Dota2 TI3 allstar games where players manner paused, flamed each other, picked meepo (never picked otherwise) and so on.
makes for much more fun and it´s not that bad that teams are fan voted this way.

Actually, now that I think about it, I had the same problem with DanDy's 5-Man Dragon Kick so it might be related to Lee's ultimate.

I love allstar games if it was actually casual, the problem is that there was a worlds slot at stake (Like Korea was for fun voting locodoco for Korean all-star ADC and it would have been fun to see loco/madlife again but when they learnt about the slot they immediately switched to pray). If it's just a for fun fanservice thing then I'd be okay with the votes but if there's a worlds slot at stake it's silly.

I actually like the idea of both try-hard all star games and fun all star games so I can never be truly happy.

NA top lane is a good example of this. How about monetary incentive? Winning team gets X amount money kinda like a mini tourny. Dunno how I'd go about getting more players involved tho.
The monetary prize would be kind of cool, and it would motivate the players to try. For more players I was thinking they could have the fan vote, but also a player vote, and a coaches/analysts vote or something. Then the top of each vote gets in. There are lots of ways to involve more players though, especially if it's just for fun - add a subs vote for the fans, or set it up so you have at least one rep from each team.
Then you can make up all kinds of crazy rules for subbing to make the event more fun - like worst k/d/a gets bumped out each game (that might be an awful idea, but I'm just throwing things out there).

Should really have been ignite on Irelia imo.

The same as any other all-star game - it's a fun chance to see the best players all on the same team together trying crazy stuff out.
One of the best All-Star game experiences I can remember is Pedro Martinez striking out Barry Bonds, Mark Mcgwire, and Sammy Sosa (three incredible hr hitters who were completely roided up) in a row to start an all star game. It was cool as fuck because you had the three best hitters in one league facing the best pitcher in the other. They all tried really hard out of pride, and Pedro striking them out in a row was crazy because you'd never see that caliber of a lineup in a real game.
In sports like basketball or football though people don't try as hard because getting injured during an allstar game would be insanely stupid. This wouldn't be a problem at all in LoL though, unless someone had a sleeper OP pick they didn't want to bring out so they could use it in LCS.
