Keep the rage to a minimum. This includes wait times between games, music, and balance.
Fair warning to all. |

Honestly, this is another one of the problems I have with the booth-less venue and the "crowd interaction" argument. It's a western crowd--they will be VASTLY more supportive of the Western teams (this should have been clear to anyone from the vastly louder cheers for M5 and TSM on day 2). Exposing teams to crowd interaction is exposing them to the crowd bias--which will have a noticeable effect on teams' morale, and therefore, the outcome of the game. You can't blame the crowd for preferring their home teams, but setting up the venue in such a way that exposes the teams to that so directly isn't fair.

it's fair if there's tournaments in Korea/China too. We don't ask the crowd at Rexall to hush so other NHL teams feel comfortable in Oil country.
on the other hand, you can't ear hack in hockey lol

they have to fit in a potential 9 matches starting at 5pm tomorrow? hmm
good luck with that, haha.
they could start at 1 so EU can watch SOME games, too.
but steve, in those leagues there are always 2 games, one home and one guest, no? this tournament with the single big price for the season is all US.

There is only one $2mil comp in LoL currently so can't really say it's fair if there's other tournaments i n korea/china if well there aren't any Anyway not like it matters, the asians seem to be doing fine while being up against it.

"Day 3" meaning last Quarterfinal and Semis is on Wednesday.
|
so a fresh BO3, start with 0-0, and not 1-1?

I doubt any team would consciously make the decision to throw away an advantage by not finishing a game and instead stall it out because the other team "was getting tired and frustrated". If they won that game none of this would have been an issue(well some of it would have been at least). Some tennis players do this, knowing that they can physically exhaust the opponent. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility imo. Ye but this is a million dollar tournament for people who aren't used to this kind of pressure. I don't know if CLG had the nerves and clear thinking to actually do something like that I'd be more than surprised. It just looked like they were afraid of committing a mistake so rather wanted WE to commit a mistake by doing a bad engagement.
It's not like EU has been dragging out every game they've played in every tourney they were in since their formation as a team or anything. This ain't no new strat they came up with, they've been doing this forever. They had the mental fortitude to go with it.

It's too easy to just say : "well it's biased cauz the public prefer that team and that team".
In SC1, people just loved a lot of koreans players, and in SC2 we see the same situation. If WE or any asian team wants to be supported, then they just have to build up some character, interact with the public, shows who they are, just like maknoon is doing. The fact that they are chineses or koreans does not necessarily mean that they will never be supported.
People cry jaedong in SC2 tournament even when he is not there.

Asian teams could be popular here...
The problem is, we can tap TSM, CLG, Dig on streams and get instant access to them, who they are, how they play, self-commentary.
With Asian/Korean teams we don't have the same coverage as we did for BW. OGN is free for the live stream but you have to pay for VODs. And with BW we had a slew of articles, talking from anything to analyzing the latest match to random translations of interviews to a player's personal history. The closest we got to decent coverage from an Asian team was the Singapore Sentinels video.
(I know nothing about SC2 and prefer to leave it that way.)

tomorrow we vs clg.eu and the semis will be streamed live on twitch and own3d with NO live audience
finals will be in the arena as planned.

Sorry to double post, but for coverage of the Korean teams I used to go to the azubu page, but I agree there is a slight lack of coverage. For china you need to know chinese pretty much, same for korea. Taiwan and SEA have Garena so there should be some english info there.
Thanks for explaining AsnSensation

What's the justification for discounting game 1 of WE vs CLG?
